February Recommend Reads
We didn’t post any January Recommended Reads because we only really had one and that was Cecilia Grant’s A Lady Awakened. February isn’t as bare, but it isn’t as robust as previous months either:
Historical:
- The Garden Intrigue by Lauren Willig, recommended by Jayne (review here – to be published on Feb 14, 2012)
- The Scandalous Countess by Jo Beverley, recommended by Jayne (review to come)
GLBT:
- A Private Gentleman by Heidi Cullinan, recommended by Sarah F (review to come)
Contemporary
- The Principal’s Office by Jasmine Haynes, recommended by Jane for erotic romance readers (review here)
- I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella, recommended by Jayne (review here)
I loved A Private Gentleman. Good pick, Sarah.
The Kinsella review does not seem to exist, I get a 404.
@lakaribane: It’s posting tomorrow, on the 14th. Actually, I’m sorry, it is posting this afternoon at 2.
@Jane: Thank you, I see it now!
I’m looking forward to The Scandalous Countess. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book by Jo Beverley that I didn’t enjoy.
Hey, how about Cindy Gerard’s Last Man Standing – released on the 31st of January?! By far my best read in 2011-2012 so far!
But then, I guess DA is all about historical and self-published (the two worst subgenres!) and nothing else at the moment.
How about the new Sarah Mayberry book?
@GAB: Jane reviewed “Last Man Standing” on Feb 2nd and gave it a B-. Generally our recommendation books have at least a B grade.
@GAB The new Sarah Mayberry is a March release. I also reviewed a trio of Blazes a couple of weeks ago and I have a review of Mary Burton’s Before She Dies today.
I’m reading The Scandalous Countess right now. It’s great! I’m halfway thru it and I don’t want it to end!
