Open Thread for Readers for July 2017
Got a book you want to talk about? Frustrated with a book or series? In love with a new one? Found a buried treasure? An issue that keeps popping up in the books you are reading? Just want to chat about stuff in general?
I enjoyed Silver Silence, the first book in Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling Trinity series (i.e. season 2).
I also enjoyed the characters in book one of Jill Shalvis’ Wildstone series, Lost and Found Sisters, but there were too many subplots/issues that were introduced and then went nowhere. The heroine was too passive in the first two-thirds or so, but she eventually found her way. A lot of stuff I wanted to see resolved on page we’re only told about after the fact, so it made for a frustrating read at times. But her new friendship with the hero’s ex and the romance made it worth reading.
I’m currently reading (finally) Meljean Brook’s The Iron Duke. Thankfully the zombies don’t play as big a part as the blurb suggested.
