The Good News Continues
WARNING – the first story is heartwarming but does have some pictures of the injured pets. Most of the animals just have bandages or wraps (mainly on their paws) but a few show where their fur has been burned.
See Heartwarming Photos of Pets Reunited with Owners After California Wildfire Okay, I dare anyone to watch the video of the woman holding her cat and not be crying by the end.
But humans are not the only ones to have suffered in this devastating event. Thousands of animals have been transferred to emergency veterinary hospitals, many of them injured with severe burns. The ones that survived are being taken to clinics and shelters, which are bursting at the seams.
Clinics are also posting photos of lost pets on social media, and several Facebook groups have popped up trying to locate lost pets or reunite those have been found with their owners.
“One thing I’ve noticed in this tragedy is the kindness of others, even strangers,” Danz said. “People I didn’t even know would comment on my posts. I had this whole invisible team looking for my cats.”
Last week, someone identified Coco in the photos of lost pets on the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and now the two have been reunited. Her paws were burned, but, according to Danz, she’s still “eating and loves to be petted.”
And if you’d like to help, there are several organizations you can donate to.
Right, now that you’ve grabbed a few tissues and are mopping up the tears, on to something fun.
Bearded buddy trades places with bride in hilarious ‘first look’ wedding prank Yeah, I bet this will show up in a romance novel before too long.
The wedding of Brianne and David Hofmann in Snohomish, Wash., on Saturday is bound to be a memorable one — not just for their guests but for many of those on social media, thanks to some unlikely ‘first look’ photos posted by the couple’s photographer, Anna Morrison. The priceless images show a hirsute “bride” who happens to be the couple’s close friend, Timmy Horton, pulling off an epic prank on the emotional groom.
And epic it was. Timmy, the groom’s best friend, played his part to perfection aided by the bride and the photographer. Note the veil – and is that a baseball cap under it?
“It was so hard not to laugh,” Timmy told Yahoo Lifestyle of the ridiculous moment he locked eyes with his best buddy. “He was really anticipating this first glance, but he turned around and was like, ‘Oh my God!’ We couldn’t stop laughing. We couldn’t breathe,” he said. “When it was time for the real reveal, he told me he had PTSD.”
<3 Thank you.
The wedding prank was hilarious and yes, the owners being reunited with their pets is a tearjerker. So said about what’s happening in California. I’d love to donate if I knew which ones were going directly to the people in need.
I’ve found a foundation that’s for helping the firefighters. I scrounged through Shane Dawson’s tweets and I came across this one. One of his tweets were about a firefighter who had to sleep after 48 hours of hard work.
