great giveaway. Fingers crossed
My favorite holiday movie is Christmas Story.
My favorite Holiday movies is Love Actually. IT’s Christmas all around us….
I really can’t choose a most romantic story. It all depends on my mood.
I’m still loving Sleigh Bells in the Snow by Sarah Morgan because the wooing and romance and soft and subtle for most of the book and that works with the past the heroine has and is just right for her.
My Favorite romantic story is Barbara Samuel’ s The Sleeping Night.
I can’t think of a favorite holiday movie for valentine’s. But my favorite romantic movie (actually a mini series) is the most recent Emma. I love the slow development of Emma’s character and her gradual understanding of her feelings for Knightley. It never fails to make me sigh happily.
I love all holiday movies because they show us love.
It’s hard to tell which of my books is the most romantic because all of the are.
I can’t think of any Valentine’s Day movies. But in terms of romantic, I like The Vow.
I am having a hard time picking the most romantic, so I think I’m going to go with an author: Julie James’ contemporary novels are awesome. I love that her hero and heroine are always on equal footing; each are strong individuals with a lot to offer on their own, and the other recognizes that. No Mary Sue heroines or alphaholes here. I also feel like I could know her characters; they might be the person down the street or next to me at Starbucks. Because the hero and heroine come together with growth on both sides, I’m picking any Julie James book as most romantic.
The last 20 percent or so of Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelei James. It’s a good story period, but the romantic gestures pick up at the end :)
Persuasion by Jane Austen. She kept her love despite no glimmer of hope because she knew herself and the greatest epiphany is when he realizes what he almost lost. Love love love.
I don’t have a favorite VD movie, but for a romance movie, it would be Jane Eyre with Orson Wells
I don’t really have a favorite VD movie (why does VD make me think not of Valentine’s Day but…).
Erm… the rafflecopter asks for a favorite holiday movie, and I don’t have one.
The post however asks about the most romantic story in my collection, and while this can and does change depending on mood and circumstance, off the top of my head I come back to LaVyrle Spencer’s Morning Glory. I love, love, love that book.
Gosh, I’m not real big on movies, unless something is being blown up in it… but I do like Love Actually. I keep meaning to watch Valentine’s Day but just never got around to it. :)
For Valentines Day…I could watch Crazy, Stupid, Love over and over. Such a great cast!
My favorite holiday movie is probably The Man Who Came to Dinner, which has a lovely romantic plot and a platonic romance. My favorite love story on the page is probably Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe. Sigh.
I don’t have a favorite holiday movie for Valentine’s Day, but my favorite holiday movie is The Thin Man, which I always watch at Christmas. That said, I’m debating a Before Sunset trilogy rewatch this weekend.
Holiday movie for Valentine’s…well, I think tonight calls for a rom-com, so I’ll have to decide between Tootsie and Only You, which are two of my favorites. Favorite romance book is definitely, without hesitation, Pride and Prejudice.
My fav romantic story is Kiss and Tell by Suzanne Brockmann. Marshall has been in love with Leila for years. He kisses her at midnight during a New Years Eve party…wearing a ninja costume. He wears a costume! And he’s a ninja! And she is clueless! I adored this story. Adored the whole trilogy, really. This is book one of the Sunrise Key trilogy.
My favorite holiday movie is Home for the Holidays with Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr. The hysterical dysfunction reminds me of my own family.
Fav holiday movie is love actually. Fav romantic movie is (sort-of) an oldie: ladyhawke
I can’t think of a Valentines Day movie, and so many of the romances I read would be contenders for “most romantic.” Though for romantic movies I totally am channelling my teenager self and still re-watch those teen romantic movies like 10 Things I Hate About You.
Going for the most romantic story like the post says…..and I saw another comment that mentioned Lavyrle Spencer :). It made me remember her book, Years, which I have read a million times. Love it, so good, so romantic. But fav holiday movie is The Santa Clause – weird, I know, but I love me some Tim Allen.
It’s not a holiday movie, but my favorite is Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
Most romantic book….thinking….I’m not sure I can pick just one. I would go with just about any Julie Garwood historical.
Favourite romantic movie: While you were sleeping. There are more. But that is the first one that comes to mind :)
Favourite romantic book: This is more difficult to answer. I can’t think of just one. So I’ll substitute with the last book that made me sigh: Stir me up – Sabrina Elkins.
My favorite holiday movie is It’s a Wonderful Life. My favorite romantic story is Pride and Prejudice.
Most romantic movie? North and South. That final scene in the train station…just…omg, stop my heart. And Richard Armitage. Nuff said.
Romantic story…Gotta go with the saga of Jamie and Claire from the Outlander novels.
Fav movie is Groundhogs DayI know crazy! My late husband and I met on Groundhogs day 1974. Dated for 14 days got engaged and married one year later!! Had 36 years together I am so blessed!
I misss him but have some good memories of Valentines days in the past!
My favorite holiday movie is Desk Set. Parts of it take place at Christmas so I always think of it as a Christmas movie.
The most romantic book I have? That’s hard. I think it would be Susan Napier’s In Bed with the Boss because I love seeing the hero wooing the heroine. Or maybe one of Laura Florand’s books. It’s too hard to pick.
There’s no way to pick just one “most romantic” story, but one of my favorites is Head Over Heels by Jill Shalvis.
I can’t choose the most romantic book I’ve read! It’s probably the short stories in Wild Invitation, two of them are my favourite stories ever and I go back to them again and again because they’re so adorable.
The most romantic story in my collection has to be PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. As to holiday movies, my favorite is “Love Actually.”
Most romantic book on my shelf? It is hard to choose just one, but I have a soft spot for Jayne Ann Krentz’s books, particularly from the 90s, and Jenny Crusie’s Anyone But You.
Hm, favorite holiday movie? I don’t know. If it’s Christmas, I guess The Santa Clause (original, not the sequels).
It’s not really a holiday movie, perhaps, but especially around V-Day I love rewatching PS I Love You. Of course, I rewatch that movie at the drop of a hat, regardless of the time of year. :D
Oh, and I have to agree with @Brianne about Sarah Morgan’s SLEIGH BELLS IN THE SNOW. Loved that book!
Enjoy,
TBQ
My favorite romantic book is Anna by Cynthia Harrod-Eagles. As for favorite holiday movie…it would have to be Dirty Dancing.
I loved Tangled….so sweet.
Thanks for the giveaway
No historicals? :(
My favorite holiday movie is Elf, followed closely by White Christmas. I love movies, but I can’t think of any non-Christmas holiday movies that are at the top of favorites list.
Favourite holiday movie is Holiday Inn – it covers them all! Most romantic book … Hmmm… I was reminded about the lovely moments in the Anne of Green Gables series, especially Anne of the Island and Anne’s House of Dreams. Sigh. Innocent, but so lovely.
My favorite holiday movie is It’s a Wonderful Life.
Growing up, they seemed to play Sound of Music at Thanksgiving. I’m not sure why, but it was always fun to sing a long.
Ooh so many great holiday movies but I absolutely adore The Holiday and Love Actually.
Favorite holiday movie is for Christmas, and that is The Bishop’s Wife (the original version).
Miracle on 34th street – classic
My favorite holiday movie so far is Miracle on 34th st.
My favorite holiday is nothing specific but i would say Elf
My favorite holiday movie is Christmas-themed, not Valentines Day: Miracle on 34th Street.
My fave holiday movie is White Christmas – but my fave love story movie is Overboard!
I’ve always loved While You Were Sleeping.
My favorite holiday movie is Home Alone.
I think my favourite holiday movie is “Groundhog Day”. Most holiday movies just don’t do much for me. Most romantic story in my collection…huge collection, hard choice. I’d have to say “Jane Eyre”.
Thanks for the giveaway & happy Valentine’s Day!
Her Best Friend by Sarah Mayberry
Looks exciting. I’m very interested.
While You were Sleeping :) Thanks for the fun giveaway!
Love, Actually…but now I have a few more movies to watch (North & South, first I think).
Fav romantic story? Difficult question, but today the answer is … Persuasion, by Austen. (Tomorrow, it might be a different story!)
Holiday movie is A Christmas Story
I just read Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas and really liked that.
Me Before You by JoJo Moyes was romantic but made me ugly cry so don’t think I can ever read it again.
Most romantic story? Don’t make me choose! Either These Old Shades by Georgette Heyer or England’s Perfect Hero by Suzanne Enoch. As for the movies, they’re not necessarily holiday-themed, but I enjoy rewatching old rom-com favorites around this time of year, especially Notting Hill, Penelope, and BBC’s Emma.
Thanks for the giveaway!
“Elf” and “Home Alone” are my favorites.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Hands down.
It Happened One Autumn by LIsa Kleypas.
i love the holiday
I love watching Elf
My favorite holiday movie is Love Actually. Thanks for the chance to win! Happy Valentine’s Day :)
Lots of fav romances stories … but am thinking of Kiss an Angel by SEP today … and I am due for a re-listen apparently!
I love When Harry Met Sally. Not sure you’d call it a holiday movie, but Christmas and New Year feature, so close enough.
I always love watching White Christmas. Thanks for the giveaway!
White Christmas or Meet Me in St. Louis, which takes place at Christmas.
I don’t really have a favorite holiday movie, but I do have several romantic books. Linda Howard, Lisa Kleypas historicals and a couple of her contemporaries, SEP’s, some of Nora’s. They’re all keepers.
I love a christmas story
Favorite romance story — The Windflower by Laura London/Sharon Curtis.
My favorite book ever is, “Liberating Lacy.” It’s romance. Okay…ummm…it’s HOT romance. It’s…hot. Very hot. Just did a reread last week. Thank you for the awesome giveaways!
I’m not a fan of holiday movies in general but I’d go with Die Hard as an excellent Christmas movie.
Favorite holiday move – When Harry Met Sally.
Best Dialogue Ever!
3 Days and Scrooged. Thanks for the awesome giveaway.
My favorite holiday movie is Christmas in Connecticut.
The Holiday.
My favorite holiday movie is It’s a Wonderful Life.
I love the movie Love Actually. So many love stories in one.
My favorite holiday movie is Love Actually. I will never get tired of that movie.
Pretty women just love it.
Favorite holiday movie is A Christmas Story.
Fave holiday movie is It’s a Wonderful life
More funny than romantic but I love ELF – there is a little romance too though :)
It’s a wonderful life.
My favorite romantic holiday movie The Sound of Music.
I love “White Christmas.” “You’ve Got Mail” covers every season, so it’s great all year!
Does Die Hard count?
Most romantic is pretty tied to my mood. The Chocolate Rose is probably my go to right now.
Favorite holiday movie is Home Alone
Thanks Jane and Harlequin.
I want Black wings with green shining through and could find no pic, boo
