Welcome to the Dear Author August Extravaganza, Day 31.

From Author Carolyn Jewel
My Darkest Passion is book 5 in the My Immortals series.
Addison O’Henry has no idea magic is real or that the fragile peace between the magekind—humans who can use magic—and demons is about to shatter. All that changes the day she’s abducted by one of the magekind. After a ritual murder goes horribly wrong, Addison ends up with demon-sourced magic that nearly kills her. But for the intervention of demon Harsh Marit, she might not have survived. Though Harsh does what he can to help her return to what used to be normal, they both know her life will never be the same.
With corrupt mages threatening them both, her honor requires her to help Harsh and the demon warlord he serves. If that means accepting her power and the high rank it confers on her, so be it. Now her once distant relationship with Harsh turns hot and immediate as the two of them explore the dark passion of a forbidden relationship.
You can read chapters 1-3 here: http://www.carolynjewel.com/chapters/mydarkestpassionchapter1.php
And here’s a Dear Author comment from cbjackson about the book:
AJH, I know you’re unlikely to double-dip on an author, but man, I would love to hear your take on Jewel’s most recent paranormal romance, My Darkest Passion. I’ve already raved about it hear and elsewhere, but it’s a fairly remarkable book. It goes where angels fear to tread in terms of romance plots and the heroine is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
From Author Ana Blaze
Beth Chase is too busy planning perfect weddings to worry about the lack of action in her own love life. But if she was looking for a man, she wouldn’t be looking at Colin Pratt. Her boss swears that Best Man Colin is a quiet scholar and science fiction writer who couldn’t possibly cause a fuss at his own brother’s wedding. He’s clearly never met the man in question.
Snarky, sexy and more than a little inebriated, Colin is the final obstacle between Beth and the last perfect wedding she needs to make partner. Of course, when she helps him into a taxi at the end of the night she has no idea that he’s only just begun to poke holes in her professional exterior. Colin might have the skills to seduce a romance professional, but can he convince her that he’s the best man to share her happy ever after?
“Highly recommended for a few hours of warm fuzzies and a sweet, happy ending!”- Angie Just Read…for TheRomanceReviews.com

From Dear Author
This is the end of our August extravaganza. It seems like the readers enjoyed it but I know I messed up here and there. Here’s your chance to tell me what you would like to see differently if we should do this again. Thanks for being part of the DA community!
It was fun! I discovered some new authors thanks to the contest.
It has been helpful to know which contests are international or not in the description, not just in the terms and conditions.
The first sounds so good :D
I dont know how many good books I have found with this, but thanks for it!
I really enjoyed the giveaways, they brought to my attention a lot of authors I wouldn’t have otherwise discovered
last round
The My Immortals series is awesome. My favorite is the 4th book – My Dangerous Pleasure, but Darkest Passion was a close 2nd fave. I agree with your commenter that the heroine was awesome!
The only thing I would suggest is maybe a single page that would list all of the winners? I kept getting confused which pages I needed to check each day to see if I had won.
I’ve enjoyed this month-long giveaway, even though I haven’t won! I’ve definitely learned about new authors and series. I guess the only thing I would change is having a set time for the giveaways to end – 2 days, 3 days, etc. As far as New Adult – I haven’t really gotten into them, so have no favorite yet. Thanks!
I agree with a previous poster. A single page listing all the winners. I never remembered to check to see if I had won because it was annoying to have to go look at all the previous giveaway pages.
But thank you so much for hosting all of these giveaways.
I haven’t read Carolyn Jewel’s paranormals, so I hope I win a copy!
Love Carolyn Jewel’s paranormals. Can’t wait to read this one.
A single page listing the winners would be great, but otherwise I loved it (all the m/m was a plus)! I haven’t read much New Adult yet, but I think Jay Bell’s KAMIKAZE BOYS and Madison Parker’s DEEP IN THE COUNT would fall in those categories…both great m/m stories!
If I would change anything I would like to see a blurb provided for every book being given away and also more of them open to international readers. For previous posters – you didn’t really need to check to see if you had won you would have received an e-mail if you had. (I know this because was a very lucky winner myself).
Thanks for the giveaway.
Like others said, maybe a single page with all the winners.
Also maybe more varied questions? I don’t remember the number of times I had to talk about my favorite New Adult book, and I’d rather share / talk about non-NA books I liked.
I had a lot of fun with this month-long event. It was exciting to check everyday what was next. Thank you all the hard work and I hope you do again it the future.
I had a lot of fun this month. Thank you very much!
Dear me! I haven’t checked to see if I have won on previous posts. Do we not get an email or something then?
Irene
Thanks for hosting the month of giveaways. Because of all the fabulous books I’ve discovered through the contest, it’s been a bad month for the bank account, and the TBR pile is rapidly approaching SABLE territory :)
I thought everything ran very smooth this month, I didn’t have any problems entering the contests at all…I certainly appreciate all the work that went into it and hope you can do it again sometime :)
I really enjoyed the giveaway extravaganza! I was introduced to a lot of new-to-me authors, and my Kindle wishlist has been added to :) I love that you put it in the description if a giveaway is open internationally!
I hope I win The Best Man, because I really really need the promised “few hours of warm fuzzies” :D
This month was fun. Thanks for doing it. Found some new authors to read.
It can’t be easy running contests daily but I think you did a great job.
My favorite days were when the books were all in the same genre or had the same theme. Grouping similar books together helps me remember them better.
I’ve enjoyed the giveaways and added some authors I’d never heard of to my TBR pile. I do like the idea of a page of winners, even if everyone does get an email, just in case the email goes into spam or the winner doesn’t see it. I also like the idea of more varied questions. I know the repeated New Adult question was just a mistake, but if there had been more questions, I think the giveaways could have been more interactive and engaging.
Thanks for organizing all of this!
These were really great! I’m going to miss them, but I am definitely hoping it happens again next august!
Thanks so much for the fun giveaways this month! Like others have said, a place listing all the winners would have been helpful, but I really enjoyed checking out the new giveaways each day. It’s been great.
Thanks for this awesome contest !! It was good but it would be great if we could see all the winners on a unique page ! More various questions for the comments and it will be perfect :D !
And I don’t have a favorite New Adult book…I’m not sure what it is exactly anyway ^^’.
Thanks so much for all the giveaways!
Thanks for the wonderful month of giveaways! Looking at the rafflecopter every day for the winners was somewhat frustrating and was wondering if maybe every two weeks for a winner’s post could be done to make easier for you and the readers. Can’t think of a recent New Adult fav book since I tend to forgot how they’re categorized after I read them.
Ooh these books look great! Maybe an easier way to see the winners?
Favorite new adult book is definitely Real by Katy Evans!!
I know you guys are very busy outside of Dear Author, but something most other blogs do that I would certainly like to see here is having a periodic round up of winners. There are a lot of posts a week here and sometimes it’s hard to scroll back to find the post with the giveaway and the rafflecopter. It wouldn’t have to be every week, once a month would be more than enough.
I haven’t read any new adult books.
Thanks for an awesome month of giveaways…I haven’t won yet but not all of the contests are closed, sigh. Thanks for the introduction so so many authors!
I’m not interested in the New Adult genre so I don’t have a recommendation. It’s too much teenage angst for me. I kinda got burned out with Twilight.
Recommendations for next year? DO IT AGAIN =D And email the winners – even an robo email would work to alert a contact to you to accept. Searching and finding out was a pain as I didn’t enter all the contests and therefore the rafflecopter just said closed but didn’t post winners so I didn’t know if they were chosen yet and whether I had entered that drawing. A sidebar or separate page under contests would have helped.
I’m gonna miss these giveaways. Thanks so much!
Thank you for organising this. Discovered a few new authors to me.
Over all think it was pretty cool with a big variety of giveaways (even if not a bunch that I would normally pick up, but interesting to see other things that are out there) and generous of DA and the various authors involved
This has been a SUPER fun month of giveaways! You did great. I agree with some of the other comments about having a page where the winners were listed. It was difficult to check back on so many posts to see if I won anything :) Overall it was great! My favorite new adult book is Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover. Thanks again for the great month long giveaways!!
Down London Road
This has been a fun month. I loved all the different genres and authors. It is great to see some new-to-me authors and titles. It hasn’t been great for my wallet, but I’m sure it will survive. Thanks for organizing everything. It made it fun to stop in each day.
The best part of the August giveaway was learning about new authors. Some of the contests/books were already favorites of mine, but some were completely new to me!
I love the chance to find a new book/author!
Awh, I missed most of August giveaway, but it seems such a fun idea. :-) And even us international readers get to play some.
Thank you so much for the wonderful month of give aways! It was lots of fun finding new-to-me authors and books, even though I didn’t win anything. The rafflecopters are pretty cool – I’ve never seen those used anywhere before. I really hope you do this again sometime. :-)
I had a lot of fun even though I didn’t win anything. :) What a great month here!
Thanks for all the great giveaways this month. I’ve found a lot of new-to-me authors to check out that I wouldn’t have known about. Today, THE BEST MAN caught my eye.

Apparently I am a sucker for wedding planner romances. Who knew?
As far as “how to improve”, I guess that a constantly updated single page of winners would be nice — I like to see familiar names and cheer for them. I kinda assume if I *had* won anything, I would have been notified by email, so it isn’t necessary. It’s truly the playing — and seeing all the new authors, and new-to-me authors, and the awesome generosity of favorite authors — that makes it fun.
This was fun. A month seems like the right length. I loved the variety and the number of mm offerings. Ideas for improvement – be more consistent with designating whether giveaways are print or ebooks and clearer which are US only or international.
I don’t know if there’s anything you can do about this or if anyone else even cared, but all the contest comments in the recent comments sidebar made it harder for me to keep track of other threads I wanted to follow. I worked around it, of course, but since you asked, that’s my nitpicky issue.
Thanks for the month of giveaways.
I really enjoyed this month of intros to new-to-me authors and all the spectacular giveaways. Thanks for the fun!
Thanks for the giveaway. You do a great job on your blog.
Final day to win what has been an amazing month of give-aways! My favorite NA books have to be Hopeless and Easy.
I don’t like a lot of PNR but I adore the My Immortal series :) thanks for the chance!
Thanks so much for this awesome month of giveaways! It was so much fun! I just left the giveaway page open on my browser so I could enter every day. I hope you decide to do it again next August! I’m sure it was a lot of work and I really appreciate it. Love your blog – with or without the giveaways!
Here’s to an awesome September! :)
Oh and I’m not sure I’ve read much in the New Adult category. I get confused between it, YA and just normal romance for adults.
this was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed all the different spotlights on different books and genres :) Definitely found some new ones that caught my eye. Thanks again for all of the generous giveaways!
What a huge month of giveaways!!!! Thank you so much for all your hard work!
Thanks for organizing this great event.
Maybe, in the future a couple other ways to earn those extra entries. I don’t do twitter so missed out on that way to enter. I know that there are some who still don’t even do Facebook so they would have missed out on that way to enter. Maybe use getting the authors newsletter and/or following your blog and the authors blog.
First–this was absolutely awesome, Jane, thanks! A month-long book celebration can’t be beat, and I found lots of new books and authors. It would be something to look forward to next year, if you decide to do it again :)
I agree, a page listing the winners all month would be very helpful. Also, not all of the Facebook entries had a link to click to follow–when I went on Facebook, not all of the authors/publishers *could* be followed, so it was a little confusing (though I’m really new to Facebook, so it could have been me). The “tell about your favorite New Adult author” question was used a lot–was that on purpose?
Really, though–no real complaints. This whole month was great!
I ended up buying the books I really wanted and didn’t win :p So I’d call that a success for the authors as well as all the lucky winners. The question about your favorite NA novel could be changed out more often. I think at one point you said that was on the template so easy to overlook.
Thanks for the giveaways. As I said before, without winning a single contest I have still been exposed to dozen of new books I want to read. My only suggestion, I wish that there was a way that I could have taken advantage of the multiple entries but I don’t have a Facebook account due to privacy considerations (and after reading their new terms and conditions asking you to sign away all rights to one’s personal information and images for use by them AND their advertisers I am doubly glad I stuck to my convictions. Also they now have a clause that requests the same waiving of rights for minors. They ask minors to sign that they ASKED a parent or guardian if they agreed to the minors waiving of the rights without any mechanism to ensure that the parents are even aware that the minor was establishing the account or waiving said rights. A major red flag to me.). Perhaps next time the contest could not weight the odds of winning by 2 out of three entries requiring a Facebook account. Perhaps a comment on the writer or publisher’s blog could be counted as an entry instead for those that aren’t fans of the Social Media phenemona?
Thank you for the month of giveaways. It’s certainly increased my TBR piles and my wishlist.
1) So we need an updated winners page next time.
2) The New Adult question was totally a mess up. Ned and I did these rafflecopters and we used a template but didn’t realize until too late that the blog post comment prompt should have been changed.
3) How would you feel about flash giveaways in the future – just one day (24 hours) and done?
4) More options for entries – would you be okay with sharing the giveaway as an entry option? Joining a newsletter is definitely an entry option. I’ll try to include that in the future. I’m looking at the Rafflecopter options and there aren’t many that are non social media.
Thanks for all the recommendations for improvement. I really appreciate it.
Lots of awesome books to read. Thanks for the giveaways
Thanks for the giveaways this month, its been fun. I’ve discover a lot of new authors.
This was really great and very much appreciated. I do agree with other posters that it would be nice to see all of the winners in one spot. Even as a round-up here at the end. Thanks again, Jane and to ALL the contributors!!!
I’ve loved all of the getaways this month and have been intrigued by so many new to me authors. Thank you for spending your time on setting something this cool up!
I know the new adult question showing up so often was a mistake, but definitely different questions to spur more interesting comments would be great. And just add my agreement on the idea of a winners page. Thanks so much for making my August better with these daily giveaways.
I agree with the others about a single post with all the winners. Thanks so much for the giveaways and for Dear Author.
@Jane:
Okay just saw the other questions. I do like the idea of flash giveaways. Some stores do that and I shop while I’m at work (naughty me). Also I don’t use social media either, so the email only option works best for me. I already subscribe to the website through my RSS app, so I’m not sure if you mean an entry would be because I already subscribe of if you mean having a new subscription would give someone an entry.
I loved the daily giveaways and don’t think I missed entering any of them, mostly for new-to-me authors but also for signed copies of books from authors I already knew. I was thrilled to win a book. I didn’t mind the duration of the rafflecopters being what they were and don’t see much need to shorten them. I did notice a few of the Facebook likes for the sponsored authors were non-functional and for at least one, I had a hellova time finding her page via search on Facebook because she used a different name there than on her book covers.
Thanks for the month of giveaways!
I think you should definitely do it again because it was a great introduction to a lot of new to me authors.
Something Like Normal by Trish Doller is my favorite New Adult book. So sad to see the giveaways done! (Sadder that I haven’t won!)
I love this contest. I am looking foward to reading these books.
Suggestion: please make things clearer of which giveaway is for USA, which is for International without USA, and which is open for everyone. There should be a colored all-caps disclosure before the Rafflecopter.
If you’re thinking about more options for entries, please keep the limit to 5. Anymore and it just seems like I’m not entering a giveaway but marketing, albeit voluntary, for DA for the compensation of a very small chance to win a book. Personally, I think 3 is good enough.
I agree with everyone else about having a master post of winners. Or is there an automated message sent to the winners’ emails through Rafflecopter?
What a great month of contests. Thank you! I would love to see you do it again.
I think you have done a FABULOUS job with this — I know it is a LOT of work, and if you’ve had glitches – they haven’t been noticeable!!
Great job! I don’t know if it’s a rafflecopter thing, but when contests were closed and I went back to see the winners, it would say I had no entries (instead of the two or three that showed up while it was open). If that’s normal, maybe an FYI note about it?
Thanks again! This was so much fun!
I guess beautiful disaster bc I think that’s the only one ive read. I was ok.
Thanks to you & Ned for all the work you did to put this month of giveaways together. NA question aside, setting up 31 days of multiple giveaways/options is a mammoth undertaking! And thanks to everyone who provided the giveaways. I haven’t won – yet! – but I did appreciate all of it!
You’ve already touched on the things I’d love to see next time, so I’ll just say one more THANK YOU! This certainly livened up August. :)
I think the giveaways were enormously generous and a great way to learn new authors (more than once I wound up buying the book from the blurb!) or remind me to read things in my TBR pile. It must have taken a lot of wrangling to do a whole month’s worth of giveaways! Thank you very much.
I appreciated when it was noted whether or not something was open internationally, I generally assumed that unless it specified US-only that it was open to anyone. That is not always a safe assumption to make. ;)
Thanks so much for the month of contests! I thought it was great! I found a lot of new authors and books (because that’s what I need :)).
I don’t read a lot of YA books but I loved the Twilight and Harry Potter series’. I really like my books with a little old characters.
Thank you for the fabulous giveaway.
I found a lot of new authors and books. Liked the variety of books offered,
The Best Man sounds absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for this month of giveaways and for pointing me towards new authors to explore!
I actually don’t have a favorite NA book yet.
I would also love one big list (or maybe weekly lists) of the winners, and am not an avid fan of using Facebook. Flash giveaways, especially on Twitter, would be great! Personally, sharing entries would not be something I would enjoy, as very little of my Twitter friends share the same reading inclinations; constant RTs would be an annoyance, I feel.
But above all, thanks so much for hosting this giveaway bonanza. Such a huge undertaking!
Thanks for hosting such a wonderful giveaway. I picked up a lot of new books to add to my to read list.
It would have been nice to know what the blog post prompt before signing in
I love Tamarra Webber! Thank you for an awesome giveaway!
Many thanks to you and Ned for all the work and to the authors/publishers for the prizes. I agree with the other comments about wanting a page of all the winners. I like the idea of flash giveaways.
I loved it! I couldn’t see where there were any mess ups. The contests were consistent and always easy to enter. AND we won free stuff! Who are we to complain???? *WINK*
What a great month of giveaways. Re the Rafflecopter requirements, I also wondered if there were some alternatives to the FB likes and how helpful they are anyway. But they’re your contests and thanks for having them.
It’s a Great Place for us, readers. And I have the opportunities to discover new authors whom I was not familiar with.
To be honest with you Jane, I haven’t found anything mixed-up. I do have a problem though, and it’s about the Facebook following when I enter a contest/giveweay. It went fast for me, (probably me who press the button too fast), and I will have to go check in my Facebook and my Twitter to make sure I indeed do follow “Dear Author”. But as I mentioned to you préviously, I probably have pressed the button too fast.
Your website is very well-done, and I love coming in here. Also, thank you for the “reviews”, this is very well-done, easy to understand, (and I am a french-canadian, lol), but I read 99% in English. The reviews are very helpful to me, I also really like the “Deals” section. All in all, this website a very professionally done, and I am happy to have had the chance to discover it a while ago.
Thank you again for your hard work.
Judith
ps: I apologize for any mistake, Thanks again
Thanks for a month of interesting giveaways.
I agree with others’ comments re posting a round-up of winners.
I don’t really care for new adult or young adult books
And I wouldn’t change much for next time, except it would be much better to have one page where all the winners are announced, instead of having to go back to each post to check if you won
My only complaint was that the first paragraph was exactly the same for each post. It didn’t give any info about what was in each post, instead it gave the same exact info about the giveaway as a whole.
Aside from that, this was a lot of fun. Thank you very much!
I’m not sure I’ve really read any new adult books. As for the giveaways, an easier way to see who won would be nice. And maybe limiting to winning one time during the month might be a good idea.
I’m not much of a new adult reader but I have been looking forward to reading Cora Carmack and Violet Duke. But other than that, I’m mostly adult romance reader.
Thanks for having so many giveaways! Appreciate that and enjoy coming here :)
Thanks for the fantastic giveaways this month. I don’t read many YA books and can’t recommend one.
liked fallen too far by Abbi Glines
Looking forward to the C. Jewel book.
The most recent NA book I read and enjoyed Lisa Renee Jones’, Escaping Reality.
Thanks for the great giveaways! I really enjoyed the whole month of giveaways and hope that a similar event happens again. I’ve found a lot of great authors to look into in the near future.
I’m currently reading my first few New Adult books, can’t say I have a favorite yet.
Thanks for the month of giveaways, btw!
This is so awesome! Thanks for the giveaway!!!!
I’d like a master list of winners also or at least, since I was smart and started subscribing to the ones I was entered in, a winner’s chosen post.
That said, I could really use the gift card.
Thanks for making August a great month!
I don’t have a favorite! I’ve read many good ones :)
LOVE Carolyn Jewel and giftcards of all kinds. Great giveaways this month!
As always awesome giveaway!
I think you did a pretty great job for a last minute MONTH of giveaways. Free books – can I really complain? That being said, if you do this again in the future, I’d love to see more DA Recommended books. It would make it easier to not have to research a book to find out whether or not I’d want to win it.
Also, if you – or the author – could let us know what format(s) an ebook giveaway is in or if we should specify our preference. I was happy to win a contest and have the link to the free ebook waiting in my inbox, but it’s a kindle book and I don’t have a kindle. I use an older model Sony reader because I get headaches reading on a backlit screen, so I don’t look forward to reading it on my computer.
Overall it was a good experience. I added a bunch of books to my wish lists – look out Xmas giftcards. Thanks so much for all your hard work!
The ebook retailer of my choice is Kobo or Sony.
I love these giveaways, such a wonderful collection of books.
I wanted to laugh when you said you messed up here and there – totally excellent month! Loved seeing all the different authors featured, since it gave me a bunch of new reads to check out!
Thank you for organizing all the giveaways! I’ve enjoyed popping in here this month! I’m not much of a New Adult reader though so I can’t say I have a favorite.
I really enjoyed checking daily to see if I won. I also loved reading about all these new-to-me authors. I think the Rafflecopter widget worked well and I really appreciate the diverse number of genres that were represented.
I think the previous commenters suggestion of more DA recommmeds giveaways would be wonderful. Maybe a grand prize of all of June’s DA reco?
Totally rock again today with your featured authors and their books. The Best Man looks yummy as does My Darkest Passion.
The only thing wrong is that I didn’t win anything — yet. (But I am ever hopeful!)
The giveaways are a great way to discover new authors and the wide variety of romance novels that are being published. So many genres and styles. It encourages me to stretch my romance-reading wings and try something different from what I usually read.
Thanks so much for doing this! It was a great experience, and I hope you are able to do it again in the future.
This is for your question of favorite new adult book-each author is unique in their own way and it is if they are good at what they do and would I want to keep on reading them and there is quite a few out there. If they grabbed hold of a reader and that reader couldn’t easily put it down till they reached a conclusion they done a pretty good job. In the last year I have happily discovered alot of new authors and their books and sadly my tbr list just keeps growing .So kudos to them all.
Thank you for all the interesting giveaways. No complaints – I was fine once I figured out I was reading the “ends in” countdown as hours instead of days (LOL).
As for NA authors – I’m so far past that age I don’t think I want to be reminded of all the angst from my own college time period. And, I’m trying to avoid adding any more books to a TBR pile that is now in the “hoarding” category.
So many books discovered this month. Thank you for the giveaways!
The Best Man looks great. Thanks for a fantastic month and for introducing me to several new authors.
The Jewel book sounds so intriguing! Thanks for hosting all the giveaways!
I agree with some of the other comments, a single page with all the winners would be nice.. Still it must be a lot of work to do a daily giveaway so thanks for doing it!
Thanks for all the giveaways! So many new authors to discover.
What to do differently next time?
I think, not do a whole month of giveaways, go with a shorter period? Because I bet you’re exhausted. I’m overwhelmed!
Also, maybe find a different Rafflecopter question than my favorite New Adult. ;)
I feel like a cat given catnip. I’m in the middle of looking at previous posts and I can’t stop smiling at all the good books
“Share with us your favorite New Adult book”
That’s probably what you meant by messing up, but it’s pretty minor. Thank you, Jane, the many authors and publishers for the giveaways this month. It was very fun and I love all the opportunities to win something.
thanks for the wonderful a month of giveaways extravaganza !! i hope i win something . LOL
All amazing, wonderful authors! I only hope to win something, but it was a month full of discoveries!
Thank you for the giveaway! I love the novel Friday Night Alibi by Cassie Mae and adored Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken
Hi!
I agree there were too many times we were asked for our favorite New Adult author but you seem to have that problem handled. I would be fine with 24 hour deadline giveaways and you could post winners on Facebook and/or your website for everyone to check. However, I do have a problem with “sharing” the contests because I don’t want to have to pimp out books and authors that are basically unknown to me to everyone who follows me on Facebook. I understand that the motivating reason a lot of authors giveaway their books and/or other stuff is to increase their Facebook and Twitter audiences so they can sell more books and look good to publishers, reviewers, etc. That’s just good marketing. But I rarely, if ever, choose to share contests unless I think my friends on FB will actually be interested in participating. And I (and I have noticed through blog comments that I am
not alone on this one) am much less inclined to like authors or share on Twitter because I really try to keep that account for business purposes only.
All that said, thanks so much for the month-long giveaways — it was really fun and kept it interesting for your readers.
Thanks for hosting the giveaways! I think it was very well organized. I read the blog posts through feedly. So it was no trouble to bookmark and follow up a few days later to check the winners. I came across one or two giveaways where the winners list wasn’t updated. Maybe a manual verification that winners are posted? I can imagine this takes a lot of time and effort on your behalf. That’s why the question mark :)
Also, I should mention I like that there are three possible entries into the giveaways. Doesn’t pressure me into following authors on facebook or writing comments.
Thanks again!
thanks for the giveaways,,
i really enjoyed even though i haven’t won it
my fav. book is Nalini Singh’s books ~
the giveaways make me know more about other book n authors..
I only have one suggestion and that is a winners page. Other than that the giveaways have been great and I have found many good books and authors that I might not have found on my own. Thanks!
My favorite new adult book is probably Darkest Craving by Gena Showalter.
Not a fan of NA but of those I’ve read, my favorite has to be “Pushing the Limits.” Thanks for the giveaways!
I read the first three chapters of My Darkest Passion on Carolyn Jewel’s website, and I am hooked. Even if I don’t win, this is going on my wish list! :D
To be honest I got a little overwhelmed by all the giveaways! That makes me sound really ungrateful, but I still enjoyed it.
My favorite New Adult book recently was The Trouble With Fate. It was a really cute paranormal book that I loved. The sequel just came out and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
So many wonderful authors and contests….Thank you…I have read so many new books and I don’t designate as a new adult book…..I’m m sorry I don’t tweet…..
I really liked the giveaways – it was a chance to check out some new-to-me authors, and to see what’s new with authors that I might have forgotten to read in a while. I loved that there were multiple options for entry – I didn’t have to follow authors if I was unsure about their work, and I could leave meaningful comments instead of rushed “here it is” entries.
As for changes… I’m inherently lazy and remembering to check in to see who won often slipped my mind, so I’ll second (or third) the suggestion for a winners page.
Real – Katy Evans :)
Thanks for the amazing giveaways :)
Thanks for all the giveaways! I think you’ve done a great job.
My favorite New Adult right now is Stay With Me!
@jenna – I also got a bit overwhelmed. But I kept entering the contests :)
For the last time, my favorite NA is Frat Boy and Toppy by Anne Tenino :)
And thanks Jane!
I really liked Easy by Tammara Webber (which I read because of DA reccomendation).
Thanks for the whole month of giveaways :)
@Expy:
What they sad, word for word. I didn’t realise until the very last few days of August that some contests were US only. And too many entries per contest make me feel like I have little to no chances to win given I usually get 1 or 2 entries/contest (and that’s aside from attracting contest hunters/spammers).
That was a lot of contests! As many others have mentioned, the one thing I would change is having a central listing of the winners. By the time a contest would close, it was already a few pages back in the list so it was hard to find them all to check for the winners.
Good timing – currently rereading all the Immortals books to refresh myself for Harsh’s book!
First of all, thanks so much for the entire giveaway! I would have loved to see more collections given away – I think the ones I was the most excited about were the Ilona Andrews sets and the Nalini Singh sets.
Haven’t tried any new adult books yet. Rampant is my favorite YA title though.
These all look good.
I loved this giveaway – as a UK reader I was delighted to be eligible for so many prizes – and I was a winner on two occassions! I didn’t check the winners as I was emailed on both occassions. I also liked the fact that I didn’t HAVE to like the individual authors on facebook in order to be eligible.
If I liked the look of the book I entered regardless (unless it specifically said physical book) but it would have been nice if all the rafflecopter giveaways stated US/international and/or (signed) book vs digital.
Thank you once again for all your hard work organising this – and to all of the authors who were so generous with their products.
Thanks for hosting such a fantastic contest and introducing me to so many new-to-me authors. I really enjoyed how easy it was to enter each contest via Rafflecopter.
Thanks for all of your efforts in putting these contests together Jane and Ned. I like the suggestions about letting entrants know which contests are open to international residents right in the entry ballot and creating a page listing the winners would be helpful. Thanks also to the authors and publishers for providing prizes.
@Sandypo: I agree. I’m not going to “like” or “follow” an author I’ve never read before, nor am I going to share a contest that I don’t think will interest my friends.
Thanks for offering such wonderful books each day this month. My favorite NA book of late is probably “Easy”.
>.> Can On Fortune’s Wheel or Pigs Don’t Fly be counted as NA? I have to admit I’m not as up on the current NA trend. How about Cake? To me age is a huge part of the NA and it goes hand in hand with the “coming of age” aspect – finding out what sort of person one is, and if it’s without all the angst, so much the better in my book.
Thank you for all the great giveaways!
Thanks for the giveaways! I’ve really enjoyed them. I found some new books to try whether I win or not. I will definitely participate in future giveaways. I don’t have any recommendations for changes.
My “must read” list just keeps growing…..
This has been a month of fun !!
Once again, thanks for all these giveaways. It was a lot of fun finding new authors :)
What an awesome month! Next time, can we have a single place to go to see winners. I had a hard time remembers which contests I entered and to check them 3 days later.
What a great way to discover new-to-me authors.
All the giveaways went smoothly I thought. I did have trouble remembering which giveaways to check to see if I’d won. I only entered when I really wanted to win and I had to keep checking. I also think a master list of winners would be wonderful.
Thanks for a fabulous month of giveaways, I was also a lucky winner, so I’m thrilled.
The month of giveaways was great. I didn’t win anything but I sure did add a lot of books to my tbr or is it tfb? :)
