GIVEAWAY: Bookjigs and journals sponsored by the Franklin Mill
A couple of weeks ago, Russ from The Franklin Mill contacted me about a potential giveaway to be hosted at Dear Author. We actually get these kinds of inquiries regularly but they aren’t well suited to our readership. But when I went to the Franklin Mill website, I fell in love. Not just with the adorable book jigs featured above, but all the little journals, notebooks, pencils, and even sticky books.
The attention to detail is wonderful. Take a look at the spine of the box that holds the notecards. It’s like a mini book.
I ordered a few items just for myself. Currently I am fighting my daughter over ownership of them. Then Franklin Mill surprised me with a few other things.
Everything I received from the sticky notes to the journals were all well constructed. One of the items I was sent was a luscious felt notebook. It’s hard to get a sense in the picture, but the felt is very thick and has a wonderful texture. I’ll be ordering a few in some different colors when I’m done using the gray.
All in all, I was highly impressed with the quick shipment (for the products I ordered) and the quality. So I’m happy to present this giveaway to you. Five winners will be chosen and you’ll get one bookjig of your choice and one other item from the Franklin Mill website excluding the magnets and the pencils.
My favorite non tech writing/stationary/paper item is the magnetic notepad I have on my refrigerator.
I love notecards, journals, and post its.
I love all kinds of gadgets. I make lists for everything from grocery lists to my daily plan. I have so many cute notebooks for each list. And I have pens to match them. I have the cutest sticky note pads. Honestly, leave me in an office warehouse and I will go crazy.
My favorite is definitely post it notes – I could not survive without them.
My favourite non-tech stationery item is a big batch of stickers I got working in China years ago. It’s a totally random assortment of stickers, big and small, sparkly and fuzzy, some with nonsensical “English” sayings that crack me up whenever I stick them on an envelope and picture the receiver’s face when they find it.
I’m the world’s worst at collecting cards, notepads and stationary, as well as pens. I enjoy all of these. I even write my blog posts out with pen and paper before I type them in.
I love, love, LOVE post-it flags!
My favorite non-tech stationary item is a little nerdy – I track my daily workouts in a hardbound day calender. :-) I really love my 2013 one better than my 2014: my 2013 calender was leather bound, a beautiful blue and had silver edged pages. Sadly they stopped making that calender so my current one is cute (red) but not as cute as 2013. Maybe Franklin Mill will have the 2015 calendar of my dreams!
I have post its that cover every part of my desk.
I adore nice pens.
I love pens!
I’m an addict of beautiful stationary…but the non-tech writing item I couldn’t live without is post-its. Tons and tons of post-its.
Oh, this is NOT good . . . now I want one of everything on their website! LOL
I love my wolf journal which I received as a Christmas gift last year. It’s handmade with real leather and it’s oh so pretty! Which, of course, means I’m afraid to write in it! lol I also love a good pen; I have some fountain pens that I pull out for special occasions, as well as some good quality, but simple, pens for every day. They must write smoothly though! :)
Enjoy,
TBQ
I love pens, but they have to be just right. Fine tip, inky, but not so inky that they smear all over the place…I’m very Goldilocks about it.
I’ll echo what many others have said, post its! One of the best inventions ever!
Those really are adorable! I used to love my desk, all my papers, pens, and different stationary, but then I wrote a lot of letters before. Now not so much, but I still love pens, lol
I love a beautiful pad of paper on my desk.
i love using notepads/post-its/journals just to keep my thoughts or ideas handy
Non tech writing? Toss up between post its or dry erase markers. I guess it depends on where the message is being left – and who the message is for. :)
This store has some really pretty stuff! As for my favorite item, I’ll go with notebooks. Thanks for the giveaway!
I use a Post-It at work to cover the camera on my iMac. I don’t need anyone looking at my chins as I work (paranoia, much?), and that little yellow sticky does the job. And my favorite pens are the Tull series; sleek and comfortable to hold.
I love post-it type notes.
I like writing in journals.
I love having a notepad right by the computer. They are so handy.
I use sticky notes for…everything, really. The only other writing gadget I use more is the little notebook I keep in my purse. Thank you for hosting the giveaway!
I’m a sucker for stationery, pens, etc. and these are adorable. Too bad this post wasn’t a week earlier — I had to put together a gift bag for a new teacher and some of the items on the website would have been perfect. I’ll have to keep this website in mind for future teacher (and other) gifts.
I love all kinds of stationery and related items – especially pretty journals. But, I cannot live without steno pads. I love the size and the lines and even the pale green color. I keep them by my computer for quick notes of things I need to remember, websites to visit, specific dates/times needed for this or that and even temporary passwords and the like. I never tear out the pages, just keep going until they are all filled. Then I go through to find anything I might really need to keep and put that in its proper place before tossing. Often I just keep them for several months in case the information is needed.
I love tiny notebooks, and will shamelessly buy them even when I don’t use them. I’m particularly fond of the Moleskine mini yearly datebooks, but I wish they had adorable designs like these Franklin Mill ones.
OOOOO not participating in a giveaway obviously, but love love love and definitely will order some stuff :).
Sticky notes. So, so, so many sticky notes. Also, post cards and greeting cards, especially ones that have some sort of special extra-ness (like three-dimensionality, textures, glitter).
Sticky notes- the best thing for studying and paper writing
It all looks so nice!!
Oh, these are all so pretty! They would make great Christmas gifts.
This looks like a fantastic site and I’ll definitely be adding some items to my Wish List
I love journals, there’s something about all that lined, unmarked paper that I just can’t get enough of. Forget Christmas presents, I’m getting something for myself.
I like postcards, index cards, and gilded hotel stationery.
I love thick, quality paper and cards for writing correspondence and have a wax seal set that I rarely use because I don’t often write letters anymore :( Perhaps this post is my nudge to write some letters…
I love all kinds of stationary. One of things that bummed me out about Borders shutting down was I missed the chance to see all the great Paperchase items they stocked.
BOOKMARKS!
if not it has to be some form of a diary :)
I just lost my favorite pen (a beautiful, green Wicked pen) recently due to overuse. It is time for a replacement. You can be a part of helping me do exactly that.
I love cool post-it notes–with sayings, pictures, designs, etc.–but they have to actually stick too, which some of the cheaper ones don’t. I also love Blackwing pencils…they write so nicely, and bold tip (1.6 or so) pens. I can’t stand fine tip ones, they make me too self-conscious about my penmanship ;)
Thanks for the giveaway!
What fun. I love sticky notes – to the point that sometimes you can’t see my desk top under the sticky notes. And I love notebooks and sketch books.
Sticky notes, definitely. I use them in books, on my bulletin board, on my computer itself.
Those are definitely more pretty than my normal whatever-scrap-of-paper-comes-to-hand bookmarks. Off to investigate their site…
My favorite is probably personal stationary. Especially if the design has anything to do with books or music!
I love my magnetic shopping pad, but I really love the little post-it flags. They are so convenient!
I love journals. I tend to start using them either for story notes or wish books and then put them aside to be discovered later and enjoyed.
There’s just something about a pretty, empty book waiting to be filled.
The pen that sticks to my refrigerator to write grocery lists. The back is completely flat with a magnet along it so the entire pen sticks to the fridge. Always handy and it never falls off. I got it through a goodies bag at my college’s alumni association and I’ve never been able to find anything similar. I dread the day the ink runs out.
I have an unhealthy fondness for journals (a Hoarders-level fondness). And I hate to write in them because then they’ll be “ruined.”
Mechanical pencils. I love a .7 lead.
I love post-its, but have a soft spot for the cutesy, flowery sticky notes.
I love pens
I have some beautiful stationery, from my friend who designed this with beautiful photography. This makes me happy.
Ironically enough, it’s a 5 x 8 notebook. I just bought one to replace my last. I use it whenever I’m on the phone with a vendor, insurance company, doctor’s office–whatever–to keep notes of the conversation. I’m always stunned by how often those little notes come in handy.
I’m totally on these felt notebooks.
I obsessively love all kinds of stationery items. If I had to choose just one thing, maybe itty bitty notebooks.
Love Sharpies and Post-It notes.
Pretty notebooks
I’m a sucker for a good ball point pin and cute sticky notes/notecards :) thanks for the awesome giveaway!
Love notebooks! Can’t get enough of them! I’ve been known to buy them just because they’re beautiful, not because I have any specific need.
Journals and post it notes and a pretty bookmark.
I rely on my mechanical pencil with HB leads.
I have this little zebra notepad that says “get it done!” — I take it everywhere. It’s my security blanket!
What do I like to use? Pretty, pretty papers. What do I usually use? Steno notebooks. I’m a lefty and OCD about my handwriting so I’m always afraid I’m going to mess up my lovely paper. The Franklin Mill notebook is so pretty!
I love notebooks and sticky notes to write down all sorts of ideas I get. Thanks for the giveaway! And those bookjigs are so beautiful!
Post it notes and a nice big, fat round pen .. . . ☺
I love journals and notebooks!
I have a serious stationary addiction. I love buying journals and pens and markers. And post its, and letter paper with cute envelopes.
I love creative sticky notes and stationary. Sadly, any attempt at journaling seems doomed. I need a new proper for those lovely blank books!
I like the refrigerator magnet notepads and gel ink pens.
OMG! Who said bookmarks???! I LOVE bookmarks. But I don’t think of them as “stationary.”
I adore pens. Cheap pens, expensive pens, calligraphy pens…I just love them all. But without posty notes, my pens wouldn’t be much use. :D
Journals are great!
Post-Its are my favorites.
Bookmarks! I’m easily distracted by new books, so I find myself needing a lot of these.
I wish I could remember which book I left the “turtle cozying up to a speed reading book” bookmark in. I miss that one.
OMG these are adorable! I am definitely going to have to get myself a few items. I’m a junkie for pens, notebooks and sticky notes.
These bookjigs are superb.
I love Post-It notes and colored paper. And journals.
I love pens, markers, pretty stationary, and blank notebooks. I especially love pens!
I have so many that I can’t make up my mind but I do dearly love good quality notepaper. With the advent of the electronic age I seldom take the time to write some once a personal letter. I still do bread and butter thank you notes and haven’t given in the temptation of sending them off by email, text or twitter so I still love looking through any stationary display to find new goodies.
Love them they are so cute !!!!!
I love this stuff!! I’ll be looking at it, too! nice!!
My favorite pen is my fountain pen. Totally old school and totally cool imo.
I have a weakness for small notebooks and journals. Love them – can never have too many of them!
My favorite is definitely sticky notes (post-it). With my ever forgetful brain, I absolutely need them to keep my life from going into chaos :)
Post-it notes and an A5 size notebook!
My favorite is a pen that has a letter opener on one end. It’s strong enough that I can use it to open boxes when I’m on business travel!
I couldn’t live without post-it notes, I use them to keep track of EVERYTHING!
I love pens!
Well, I’m getting nothing when I try to view the terms and conditions so on the optimistic but unlikely chance that this competition is international I’ll try an entry. My favourite pen that’s also comfortable to use (I have other nice ones but they are awful to write with) is a dragon moulded pen from a sadly closed down shop. Looks great, easy to hold, ink flows nicely…best pen ever!
My magnetic scrabble letters for the fridge
My favorite would be stationary.
I love pens. Especially the nice heavy ones. I have a beautiful one with a dragon on the cap.
I do not know how I functioned before sticky notes.
Pens. Paper. Sticky notes. Journals.
I never write much in the journals, I just love to have them. I am trying to get better about keeping my memories somewhere besides my brain.
can’t go wrong with a good pen — or ten (since they seem to play hide & seek)
Toss-up between sticky note flags, unusually-colored whiteboard markers, and my beautiful quadruled Moleskine journal I use as a daily planner.
My engraved, monogrammed place cards.
I am a big fan of non-yellow Post-it notes. I have no idea why these appeal to me, but any time I’m in an office supplies store, I inspect every Post-it variety available and usually walk out with at least one item. So now I’m overloaded with Post-its…and yet somehow I have no flags right now, Hmmmm…
I love post-it notes, mechanical pencils, and pens. I still use a planner to write my meetings and work schedule.
I love moleskins. My high school teacher actually taught us how to make them a few years back, and I’ve been loving mine. They’re really convenient, and easy to carry around on the off chance I’ll actually have a cool idea for something, be it a story, a recipe, or a even an essay for school.
These are perfectly adorable and practical too.
I love variety packs of colored pens, pencils &/or markers, and those picture-cubes of sticky notes. Also, uni-ball &/or pilot pens.
Thanks for this giveaway! It’s a fantastic idea!
I have a thing for hardcover journals and post-it notes.
Thanks for the intro to yet another site that will fill my shelf. :)
Even though I have three different electronic calendars that sync to Google calendar, I love my paper calendar. There’s something about writing an appointment or deadline on the page that makes it stick in my mind and become real. And I like shopping for a new one each year and finding just the right style.
I have an astronaut pen that is my very favourite pen ever, and yes it really does write underwater. Even better it’s nice and smooth no matter how awkward my position is. I would cry if I lost it (and would definitely become a wizard to get it back).
I just like nice pens.
I love cute notebooks to keep myself organized
I love pens with really pretty blue ink.
These look wonderful! And my daughter is an owl lover ….
I forgot to mention that my favorite non-tech items are sticky notes!
I’m with Billie – blue pens (especially blue gel ink) are my favorite writing instrument. If only my handwriting wasn’t so messy!
I always carry around a notebook full of scribbles that keeps me organized. So, that and post-it notes are essential.
I love journals, though I have a terrible habit of only using the first five pages or so and then finding another one I MUST HAVE! I also love post-its. I’d never get anything done at work without my post-its! :)
I love notebooks and gel pens!
Post-it notes are ever present in my life, and the post-it feature on my computer is usually in use too.
Journals! And pretty pens! When I was little I thought I having a computer journal like Dougie Houser would be the best thing ever, but as an adult I realize there’s no real way to keep it private when it’s digital. So gorgeous journals and multicolor pens are “a few of my favorite things” :)
A journal.
I love colorful pens!
Post it notes or pens.
ooh me please! me please! can i have some of the pretties, please? :D
Post its and pocket size journals
I love ballpoint pens, especially the ones that are fine point. They’re very common in Asia, but they don’t seem to make them as thin here in the States.
I love a good pen. Something that has the right balance, weight and clear writing.
Since I am a serious bookaholic and read more than one book at a time, bookmarks are my favorite stationery item. I like different materials and die-cut or shaped ones are appealing. Thanks for introducing us to this vendor. It looks promising!
I love the bookjigs. So cute, and useful, too.
I’m addicted to notebooks. Super cute notebooks that I’m then afraid to use.
I love those hedgehog postits you posted. perfect gift for my mom.
I used to collect stationary and I have a box of it. I don’t really have a favorite. I like them all. I want the hedgehog Franklin Mill stationary though.
pens.
These are so cute. I really like the little heart owl, love it!
oh and my fav are matching letters and envelopes!
I love their website!
Nice pens.
So neat! I am a paper/journal/pen junkie, so this giveaway is right up my alley.
My favorite is a notebook I carry everywhere.
Notebooks. I love keeping track of things in a notebook, even though I really should be upgrading to higher tech options.
Me and my Notebooks!
Old but love it :)
I like journals..
Med. Ink pen and lined paper spiral bound notebooks.
On library books that still have the white strip of paper where due dates used to be recorded, I like to use a special stamp: it has a picture of a nightcapped owl reading on the moon and to the right is “On Lune Until ___/__/20__”. There’s a light French pun on “lune” and “loan”. I love it. I wish libraries still stamped dates on the book. It’s interesting to see the history of the book’s circulation.
I love planners and post it notes! And notepads.
post-its
Pens and stationery, although my head is easily turned by gorgeous notebooks/journals, and all kinds of other paper products!
I like colorful pens and journals.
Journals and post-its, I am addicted to them.
I loved colored ink pens for when I’m editing.
I love mini-notebooks and post-its. I’m so excited that back to school items are out now in stores. It’s heaven for me! :-)
I love index cards and fountain pen friendly journals
I love journals and notebooks. I can’t seem to walk out of a store without one in my shopping bag even though I always carry one in my purse. But hey, one can never have too many…
I have a thing for planners and journals.
My grandfather always used a fountain pen. I loved the appearance of the ink on his cards and letters — the blue ink, the shape and weight of the letters — so unlike a ballpoint pen. I can never use a fountain pen because of my smearing left hand, but I do so love seeing things written with a fountain pen.
I have an unhealthy obsession with post it notes. They are everywhere!! Not just my desk…but all over the place :)
