When will this be starting?
I remember staying up all day to finish Scott Turow’s Presumed Innocent (back before they decided to make the movie). Not necessarily th best mystery ever, and I figured out the killer, but the ending still surprised me.
Library Addict, I remember reading Presumed Innocent, too! I actually don’t tend to read many thrillers, as I’m far too wimpy to stand the suspense! I think I also did read Grisham’s The Firm… I haven’t picked any up recently, even with the many popular ones in recent years…
the best thriller that i’ve read would have to be gone girl
Gone Girl was the best thriller I ever saw.
it’s been a very long time since I’ve read it, but I remember loving China Lake by Meg Gardiner. thanks for sharing!
First to Kill by Andrew Peterson.
I would say the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo!
I really enjoyed Girl on a Train. I don’t know about BEST thriller (that would require mentally working through a LOT of books), but the last thriller I couldn’t put down was a Mary Burton.
I’m reading this book right now! I really enjoyed the movie What Lies Beneath. That was a creepy thriller.
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, although my earliest thriller love was Ludlum’s Gemini Contenders.
I like Woman with a Secret by Sophie Hannah .
The best thriller I have read was Gone Girl. I am so excited for Girl On The Train!
My favorite thriller movie would be The Butterfly Effect.
Favorite thriller movie is A Perfect Murder – favorite thriller book would be Mean Streak by Sandra Brown
My all time favorite is Stephen King’s Pet Cemetary.
Silence of the Lambs!
I liked Mystic River.
My book club read this and most people enjoyed it (I couldn’t make it through)
I really enjoyed What Lies Beneath.
I think the best one I’ve seen was Insomnia with Robin Williams and Al Pacino.
Room was a pretty intense read!
I enjoyed Gone Girl quite a bit. I also really liked The Snowman by Jo Nesbo,
I’m also a huge fan of Hitchcock movies. Other great movie thrillers would include The Night of the Hunter, M, The Vanishing (the original Danish version), Tell No One, Cache, and Eye in the Sky. Obviously I watch a lot more thrillers than I read.
My mind always goes blank when asked questions like this! I used to read tons of thrillers (did you know that Winston Graham, the guy who wrote all the Poldark books, also wrote Marnie, the basis for the Hitchcock movie?), but have drifted into other things in more recent years. If The Hunt for Red October can be classed as a thriller, that certainly ranks near the top, and I reluctantly say that since I grew to despise Clancy.
My brother loved The Girl on the Train and has been trying to get me to move it up in my TBR pile. Even if I don’t score free tickets, maybe I’ll take him to the movie.
I really like Shutter Island — the book and the movie!
best thriller would be girl on the train
I really liked Sharp Objects.
I have always liked The Prestige.
I can’t decide if I want to read the book first or watch the move.
Gone Girl
The best thriller I’ve read is Gone Girl.
I loved the old James Patterson books – back when he actually wrote thrillers. I’ve also really enjoyed the books by Mary Kubica, Lisa Gardner, and Kay Hooper.
I know this is really cheesy, but I enjoyed Taken. Liam Neeson was the best part of that movie.
White Noise.
Loved this book and now I’m on Sharp Objects!
My favorite is Gone Girl.
