Happy Thanksgiving!

If you are American, you may be celebrating Thanksgiving today. Happy Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, or whatever else you celebrate (or celebrated if you are Canadian)!
What are you thankful for this year?
(Also, what are you cooking/baking/eating/freezing for later in the week? I’d love to hear about your holiday menu.)
Happy Thanksgiving!
I made an apple tart. My husband is the cook in our family. His menu includes turkey, yams with marshmallow, broccoli bean salad, and homemade bread rolls.
I am thankful for a wonderful husband, daughter and sister, for great friends, and for good health.
@Kareni: My husband is doing most of the cooking but a couple of the recipes are mine. He’s made:
-Cranberry sauce from AllRecipes (pretty standard except for the orange juice and a pinch of cinnamon that’s our variation): https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/9111/cranberry-sauce/
-Caramelized Onion, Mushroom and Hazelnut Pilaf (my recipe)
-Brussels Sprouts with Tahini: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1016294-rawia-bisharas-brussels-sprouts-with-tahini-sauce
– Stuffed Red Kuri Squash (My recipe also; it’s stuffed with vegan sausage, onion, mushrooms, red pepper, baby spinach, parsley, fresh rosemary, fresh thyme, fresh sage, almonds, pecans and walnuts or hazelnuts. I came up with it partly for a friend who eats a paleo diet— a low carb *and* vegan Thanksgiving main dish was a challenge and it took a few years to come up with the right solution, so I’m quite proud of it.)
-(Vegan) Chocolate Cream Cheese Cupcakes (left over from a birthday celebration)
Things I’m thankful for and appreciative of: Last year my local friends dispersed for various reasons and I’m so, so grateful for all the long-distance friends I FaceTime with or spend time on the phone with. I’m also grateful for relatives and for reading. For having a roof over our heads and food to eat. For my colleagues here at DA who are such a pleasure to contribute to the site with. For finding some terrific books in the past few months. And to all you readers who make it so rewarding to write reviews.
Your menu sounds wonderful, @Janine; I hope that your celebration was lovely!
I was out of town for most of yesterday so am late to the comments. I’m thankful for a lot of things but here let me mention my fellow reviewers and the wonderful readers who keep us blogging.
@Jayne: Let’s not worry about the date. Thankfulness is timeless. And thank you! The feeling is mutual.
