New Releases for the Week of June 22, 2015 (& Giveaway)
Today is the release of True Devotion, the sequel to True North. I really enjoyed True North by Liora Blake. The narrator’s voice was authentic and the interaction between the characters was fun and fresh. (Good dialogue!) It was her debut book and True Devotion is the follow up featuring another member of the band.
Her publisher is sponsoring one copy and DA is giving away two more because I enjoyed the book that much. You can read my review here. And here’s the blurb for True Devotion:
When Devon Jenkins met Simon Cole for the first time, it went a little something like this: He hit on her, she shot him down, he made a lewd joke, she told him he was an idiot.
In the two years since then, not much has changed. From the fact that Simon is the guitarist in her brother’s band, to the way he flirts shamelessly with every set of ovaries within a hundred-mile radius, Devon knows the smartest thing she can do is keep a sturdy, nearly impenetrable, wall between them. But when a series of celebratory whiskey shots start doing the talking at her brother’s wedding reception, Devon finds herself drunkenly considering the idea that waking up with Simon in her bed might be a perfectly reasonable way to end the night. Right up until he tells her no. Leave it to Simon to find a moral compass in the middle of nowhere Montana.
Since leaving the rough neighborhood she grew up in behind five years ago, Devon has built a good life in LA. And when Devon starts to discover Simon is more than just a sexy mess of tattoos and good looks, she ends up thinking he might be just what she’s been missing. But when Devon is forced to confront the notion that a girl who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks might never be good enough for a guy like Simon, she nearly throws it all away.

Up in Smoke by Tessa Bailey and Strange Bedfellows by Cardeno C
True Devotion and Up in Smoke are my must reads this week!
Very excited about True Devotion.
The Jude Devereux book although I have to confess I L.O.V.E.D. the cover for Valentine by Heather Grothaus, yum yum.
I was so-so about True North, I liked the start but I thought that Kate lost a bit of her personality as the book went. She started out (in my mind) as a clever mature woman who uses big words to a cookie-cutter heroine – my reading of her age dropped about five years.
But, I really liked the idea of Devon and Simon in True North so I want to read True Devotion.
Dana Marie Bell is a favorite, so I’m looking forward to reading SONG OF MIDNIGHT EMBERS.
This week I’m excited to read Something About a Cowboy, True Devotion ( I really loved True North) and Up In Smoke by Tessa Bailey.
True Devotion is at the top of my list after the first book. Then there’s Tessa Bailey, Kate Hewitt, Four Nights to Forever and a couple of cowboys. I need to call sick to life so I can read them all!!!
ARMADA by Ernest Cline, which I’m telling myself comes out in June instead of July. Because I’m tired of waiting and, the above smoking hot covers notwithstanding, I haven’t read anything that put me in my happy place. Except for Jodi Taylor’s books, mustn’t forget those.
I am interested in reading Trailer Park Fae. Lilith Saintcrow is hit and miss with me, but I always give her newest book a try.
I’m looking forward to reading Mary Balogh’s just released new book.
Stealing Second by Alison Packard
I enjoyed True North (picked it up after seeing the rec here!) so I’d love to give True Devotion a try. Aside from that, Trailer Park Fae by Lilith Saintcrow looks like exactly the sort of UF that I enjoy, and I really enjoyed her Jill Kismet series in the past.
I really enjoyed True North and I’m looking forward to checking out Rebecca Zanetti’s new one.
I’m still looking forward to my library getting in a couple books from earlier in June that I requested that they buy: Lilah Pace’s Asking for It, and Katee Robert’s Marriage Contract.
I’m looking forward to Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley, Mary Balogh’s newest book, Not My 1st Rodeo, and Safe at Last by Maya Banks.
I am scooping up Trailer Park Fae. Even if I didn’t already love Lilith Saintcrow’s work, the title would have made me grab it.
I love a good revenge story so “One Beautiful Revenge” by J. Evans is on my mind.
One Chesapeake Summer by Mariah Stewart
Trailer Park Fae and True Devotion caught my eye this week
I read “True North” based on the stellar review here, and I enjoyed it enough to want to continue with the series. The dialogue was definitely the best part. As for other new releases, I’m a sucker for Tessa Bailey, and I’ll probably pick up Alison Packard’s new one, because anything baseball is right up my alley.
I am not sure why I am a sucker for the romances where the star-crossed lovers have class differences, but it rings my bell.
True Devotion and Not My 1st Rodeo are the two books that interest me.
A new Kristen Ashley? I’m in! RIDE STEADY is what I’m looking forward to next week.
Thanks so much for the giveaway!!
I definitely want to read True Devotion. I took your advice and read True North and loved it! I’m excited about the next book in the series!
I’m looking forward to True Devotion and Getting Lucky by Erin Nicholas. Thanks for the giveaway!
Looking forward to reading Naomi Novik’s recent release
Erin Nicholas’s Getting Lucky’s on my e-reader… :)
I really liked True North and am looking forward to True Devotion.
The new Alison Packard.
I’m excited to read true devotion
I’m looking forward to Tessa Bailey and Kristin Ashley’s new ones! I’m interested in Trailer Park Fae as well but might wait to read a review or two first.
I have been so busy I’m not sure what is out.
Some Were In Time by Robyn Peterman and Bum Steer by Ben Rehder
Thanks for the mention! So many new releases this week!
I’m definitely most excited about the Silver Scars by Posy Roberts!
Really enjoyed True North, looking forward to True Devotion.
I’m super excited to read True Devotion, but since I didn’t preorder it, I’m really happy to have seen this giveaway before placing my order! Thanks for the recommendation of True North and also the chance to win True Devotion
True Devotion sounds like fun. Frenemies who begin to realize what they thought they knew isn’t so at all.
It would have to be True Devotion. I finished True North within the last couple of weeks and loved it. Cried and everything. I’m a sap though. ;-)
I read True North a couple of weeks ago and since I’m a fan of all types of unrequited love scenarios, Simon and Devon naturally piqued my curiosity ;)
I am looking forward to Up In Smoke by Tessa Bailey.
Up in Smoke by Tessa Bailey and Rebecca Zanetti’s Wicked Ride are my gotta haves from this week.
Thanks for putting the new release list together with all the covers and links!!
Tessa Bailey times a million. I wish she had a new book every week.
