DABWAHA Update – Extended bracket picking, updating your bracket, etc
There’s still time to fill out a bracket in this year’s DABWAHA Tournament. For those who are not familiar with it, DABWAHA is a book tournament that pits 64 books against each other until there is one winner.
There are two parts to this tournament. Part 1 is going on right now and it involves filling out a bracket. CLICK HERE! Essentially you guess which book will win against the other book. Keep clicking on the book titles until you have one winner. The tiebreaker is the number of reader nominations we received. It’s under 1000.
Part 2 is the voting. The voting takes place in twelve hour blocks from Midnight to Noon EST and then from Noon to Midnight EST. You can see the schedule here.
Can I update my bracket?
Yes! Simply click on the dropdown box and look for your nickname. Select that and then go ahead and refill everything out.
I can’t see my bracket! Help!
The software we use to run this tournament is PC based. I download all the picks about every two hours and then I have to re-upload the entire site. So if you don’t see your bracket right away, wait a couple of hours. If you still don’t see it, email me [email protected]
When does the bracket thingy close?
Your last date to fill out the bracket is WEDNESDAY, March 18, at 12:00/noon ET.
What’s the tiebreaker number?
It’s the number of reader nominations we received. It must be under 1000.
Why don’t you have the full title + Author Name?
Because the TurboTourney software is designed for colleges, not books. They only allot me a certain number of characters in each field. :(
What about column 6! The pick sheet keeps telling me I need to select a book for every match but I already did!
Column 6 is tricky. It actually will contain three names when your finished. The two in the championship match and the one book that wins them all.
Any more questions? Ask them in the comment section!
Is that example Jane’s? (If so, I had half her picks, so is that good? Or does she always bust early?)
