DAILY DEALS: Vampires and more vampires
Sunshine by Robin McKinley $ 1.99
From the Jacket Copy:
Winner of the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature: In a world where darkness threatens, there is Sunshine . . .
Although it had been mostly deserted since the Voodoo Wars, there hadn’t been any trouble out at the lake for years. Rae Seddon, nicknamed Sunshine, head baker at her family’s busy and popular café in downtown New Arcadia, needed a place to get away from all the noise and confusion—of the clientele and her family. Just for a few hours. Just to be able to hear herself think.
She knew about the Others, of course. Everyone did. And several of her family’s best regular customers were from SOF—Special Other Forces—which had been created to deal with the threat and the danger of the Others.
She drove out to her family’s old lakeside cabin and sat on the porch, swinging her feet and enjoying the silence and the silver moonlight on the water.
She never heard them coming. Of course, you don’t when they’re vampires.
The Mistress by Maya Banks $ 0.99
From the Jacket Copy:
A story you won’t forget from #1 NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY bestselling author MAYA BANKS
Mistress. It sounded so sordid, so impersonal, so far removed from the kind of relationship Marley Jameson had with Greek hotel magnate Chrysander Anetakis. Until it all came crashing down around them.
Three months later, Marley awakened in the hospital with no memory of what happened before she got there. She couldn’t remember her past, Chrysander…or the baby she carried. All she knew was that when Chrysander showed up and whisked her away to his private Greek island, being with him felt like home.
Until she remembered the truth…
Hunt the Darkness by Alexandra Ivy $ 0.99
From the Jacket Copy:
The vampire Roke is raw, sensual, always in control. Yet somehow he’s allowed the unthinkable to happen: a nymph-like witch named Sally has used her magic to trick Roke into mating with her. The pair will remain bound for eternity unless Sally breaks the spell. The trouble is, she has no idea how. . .
Mating with Roke was an accident; at least that’s what Sally keeps telling herself. She’s on the hunt for her demon father, whose identity holds the key to releasing the spell. The search won’t be easy with Roke shadowing Sally’s every move. As they mate with a ferocity that leaves them both aching for more, Sally isn’t sure if her world is more dangerous without Roke–or with him. . .
The Vampire’s Kiss by Cynthia Eden $ 1.99
From the Jacket Copy:
An ancient evil.
An unholy alliance.
An eternal love.
William Dark is a monster—a vampire who feeds on blood and fear.
He is exactly what Savannah Daniels needs.
A year ago, Savannah’s twin brother and his wife were brutally murdered. Savannah swore a vow of vengeance against the man, the beast, that killed them. A beast that is now after her. And the only way to stop him is to give up her human life. Can she convince William Dark, the most dangerous vampire on the East Coast, to transform her?
Savannah and William enter into an unholy alliance: he will change her and see that she receives her justice. In return, she must be his companion, his mate, for eternity.
But Savannah soon realizes that there is more at stake than just her life. Because once she tastes William’s kiss, she knows that she may be in jeopardy of losing her heart as well.
Seduction has a dark power all its own. Should she trust a man who claims to have no soul?
SUNSHINE may be my fastest click yet. Thank you, I’ve been waiting a long time for this book.
They are together at the end. So mote it be.
Well isn’t that wacky, Sunshine (which I already own in both hardcover and paperback so I really don’t need the kindle version I just tried to buy) is not available in the UK, not on Amazon UK nor on UK ibooks. That’s a bit annoying.
Agree with everything said about Sunshine – simply awesome book!
The sales for Robin McKinley’s ebooks seem to be because Open Road Media now has the digital rights to some of them, several are on sale for $1.99. (There is an announcement on their website from last November about it) Could also be why Curly can’t find them in the UK if they don’t distribute there.
@Joanna: and I guess why The Blue Sword isn’t available in digital which is a bummer.
@Joanna: and I guess why The Blue Sword is not in digital, which is a bummer.
No. No. No. Sunshine is about friendship and family. Not romance. Still, go click it.
Loved Sunshine! And yep, they were together in the end because that’s what the unpublished (and possibly unwritten) sequel stated happened…
