NYPD cop Desiree “Dez” MacDermot knows she’s changed a lot since she palled around with her childhood buddy, Mace. But it’s fair to say that Mace has changed even more. I’m tempted by the Jan Karon book, I enjoy settings like this. But was wondering since the main character is a church rector how pervasive is the religious theme? I can tolerate some but really don’t care for “inspirational” romances.
At Home in Mitford seems to be $2.99, now, at Amazon and BN.
Also, those looking for a contemporary western for .99 might want to check out CJ Carmichael’s Good Together on sale at Amazon until Friday. [I was asked by her publisher to host her blog tour, so have more info here if anybody wants it: http://planetpooks.com/yogurt-canada-and-tennessee-walking-horses-ftw/%5D
@Joanna: I can’t recall how religious it is but I’m going to say that it’s not overly so or I wouldn’t have liked it. I have a strong aversion to preachy books.
I adore Shelly Laurenston’s Pride series. She has a gift for family dynamics, dialogue and humor! My hubby even enjoys these. Have you check out her Dragon Kin Series under the G A Aiken name? Hilarious and just a little twisted ;-)
Ha. My mother-in-law gave me At Home in Mitford in paperback late last year and told me I’d love it. I smiled politely and stuck it on the shelf. Now I’m going to read it…if I do love it, I won’t tell her what actually made me crack the spine. ;)
