If I ever want to just purge tears I reread “Cry No More.” It was a really difficult book to read, emotionally.
Yes, I really loved Cry No More, although I had one or two issues with the hero. I’m a sucker for characters who have lost a child, or given one up for adoption. It gets me every time.
I loved how different this book was from most romances and as Beret says, it’s a cathartic full tissue box read. I thought the ending was the right ending for that story and the best ending it could have had. I don’t see another solution that wouldn’t have been contrived, so I appreciated that bittersweet aspect. I can understand why you had a tougher time with it, though, Jane. I don’t have kids, but I know the subject matter is one that many parents can find too painful and scary.

It is just so honest! I’m surprised I could read it at all, but I’ve read and reread Cry No More. Maybe because the heroine was so damned strong and owned her grief and anger. My admiration for Linda Howard went up several notches with this book.
