DAILY DEALS: Romantic Suspense day! And a paranormal
The Carriage House by Carla Neggers $ 1.99
From the Jacket Copy:
Fun and a little hard work. That’s all Tess Haviland had in mind when Ike Grantham paid her for her graphic design work with the run-down, nineteenth-century carriage house on Boston’s North Shore.
Then Ike disappeared, and now Tess finds herself with much more than a simple weekend project to get her out of the city. It’s not just the rumors that the carriage house is haunted—it’s the neighbors: six-year-old Dolly Thorne, her reclusive babysitter, Harley Beckett…and especially Dolly’s father, Andrew Thorne, who has his own ideas about why Tess has turned up next door.
But when Tess discovers a human skeleton in her dirt cellar, she begins to ask questions about the history of the carriage house, the untimely death of Andrew’s wife…and Ike’s disappearance. Questions a desperate killer wants to silence before the truth reveals that someone got away with murder.

Secrets don’t stay buried long in cattle country. Sarah Allen, the beautiful girl who humiliated Jackson Raines in high school, is back in town. Not so long ago, she couldn’t wait to leave Wind Canyon, Wyoming, in her dust. But, recently widowed, she has nowhere else to go and finds herself on Jackson’s ranch. And despite everything, Jackson’s finding himself reluctant to get rid of her.
Sarah brings her own kind of trouble, and he can’t resist trouble. Enemies of her dead husband show up making threats, thinking she has something they’re owed. Four years ago…
Skye Kellerman was attacked in her own bed. She managed to fend off her knife-wielding assailant, but the trauma changed everything about her life. As a result of that night, she joined two friends—also survivors—in starting The Last Stand, an organization to help victims of crime.
But now…
Her would-be rapist is getting out of prison. Skye knows that Dr. Oliver Burke hasn’t forgotten that her testimony cost him his reputation—and his freedom.
Sacramento detective David Willis, who investigated her case, believes Burke is a clear and present danger—and guilty of at least two unsolved murders.
And now Burke is free to terrorize Skye again. Unless David can stop him. Unless Skye can fight back. Because Oliver Burke has every intention of finishing what he started. And that’s a promise. Trust me.

Thanks for bringing the Kat Martin books to my attention. I looked and my library has the entire series available on ebooks.
Kobo Canadaland (not sure about US!) has a sale on a lot of books right now, including buy-2-get-the-third-free from a selection of Romance titles (the first three Bella Andre books are there, that’s a decent snag for about $10) as well as an unlimited-use coupon SEPT30 for 30% off… a whole lot of books. In Romance there’s some Courtney Milan, Vivian Arend, Eve Langlais, Carolyn Jewel, there’s contemporary and PNR and m/m and I am… very pleased. I haven’t even looked at the other categories yet!
Also 5% cash back on ebates at the moment, so I believe I am buying some books this month.
Has anyone read the Neggers? I read one which spent way too much time introducing past and future characters to the point when I’d read a quarter of the book, I barely knew the MC.
I’d kind of like to know if any of her others are worth reading.
