#Jerk by Kat T. Masen $ 0.99
From the Jacket Copy:
He was that boy in the playground.
The one that pulled your pigtails.
The one that lifted your dress in front of the entire school.
Now he’s that guy in the office.
The one that steals your lunch from the fridge.
The one that gets away with everything.
I’m sure you know him. Everyone knows that guy.
He’s a #JERK.
Presley Malone knew her relationship with her fiancé, Jason, had run its course.
The second that ring came off her finger, she didn’t expect to be the pawn in an immature game played by the office jerk.
His name is Haden Cooper, and he is six years younger than her. Immature and irresponsible, getting drunk and stoned every weekend like he never left college. He rode a motorcycle, carrying a different girl each week. He was everything a jerk should be — insensitive, unreliable, and most importantly, a heartbreaker.
Haden enjoyed playing games, and when it came to Presley Malone, it was all too easy. Miss Know-it-all with her over-the-top OCD was soon going to get a taste of what it was like to live on the edge.
But what starts off as an innocent prank soon becomes an unhealthy obsession.
He is wrong for her and she is wrong for him. It’s a battle of the sexes ready to go to war. But in this battle there are no winners, and it takes only one fateful night and six tequilas for their lives to take an unexpected turn that changes them both forever.

Telling James West he can’t do something is like telling lightning it can’t strike. The only thing that crosses his mind is “Challenge accepted.” Finally sitting at the helm of his families oil company, James is ready to concur the industry. The gorgeous, mysterious woman who keeps crossing his path looks like the perfect distraction from the stress of his new role. He’ll have to choose between having her in his corner at West Oil or taking her to his bed.
Libby Saint-Jane has been living a lie. One she intends to protect at any cost. When she finds herself in over her head and on the verge of failure, will her boss, James West, bail her out or kick her to the curb? He may not be the solution for all her troubles but might be the adventure she’s been waiting for.
Fierce Love… no fierce editing, I gather from the blurb…
” …although she admitted she hadn’t read past chapter four but she felt that based on the hero’s personal musings about his cock, it was headed in that direction. I felt that was a pretty helpful review.”
LOL. I just snorted tea. Thanks Jane.
@Jolanda:
I concur.
@jolanda: Amen.
There’s something to be said for clinches and half naked people on covers. At least they show readers what they’re getting.
I can’t think of a book I would be less likely to read than #JERK. The idea that a boy pulls your hair or embarrasses you because he likes you, which too many girls have been told for too long, means she questions her own feelings about not wanting the unasked for attention; it means she is told her discomfort or unease don’t matter. Sorry, but this one pushes all the buttons and a road-to-Damascus conversion seems unlikely, particularly since he grew from a young jerk into an office jerk, plus six tequilas. Not funny.
@Darlynne: I had the same reaction – not my cup of tea at all.
