Warning: A sense of humor is required for this tongue in cheek, paranormal romance. It contains coarse language and explicit sexual situation meant for open minded adults. Please note, that while no bunnies were permanently harmed in the making of this story, the prognosis isn’t so good for the pie.
What’s a poor bear to do when all he wants is some sweet, bunny pie?
Bears and bunnies aren’t supposed to mix, or that’s what Chase keeps telling himself when his bouncy new neighbor won’t stay out of his business–and his mind. However, the more he gets to know his overly perky neighbor, the more he craves her, a desire worse than his addiction to honey and pie.
Miranda’s on a mission for the Furry United Coalition, and it involves secretly guarding one grumpy ol’ bear. Staying focused on the job isn’t easy when all she can think about is turning his frown upside down, a task made harder when she gets a glimpse of his passion. When she hears about his theory on woodland creatures and predators not mixing, she thinks all is lost, but she didn’t count on a bear’s curious nature–and possessive need.
When an evil force abducts Chase, Miranda unleashes her bunny in order to save him, but the revelation of her shifter side puts her in danger. Is one ornery bear enough to save her from a mad scientist? And if he does, can a bear forget her woodland creature status long enough to love her and make her his mate?

It takes a thief to steal her heart.
Catspaw 1
A reformed cat burglar. Can he be trusted?
Self-made socialite Francesca “Ferris” Byrd is too sharp to be fooled by even the smartest–and sexiest–man, even when he’s notorious ex-thief Patrick Blackheart, now one of San Francisco’s most eligible bachelors. Blackheart runs a respectable security business these days, and seems like the perfect man to protect the fabulous Von Emmerling emeralds. All he has to do is make certain the jewels get back to their owner after an elite charity ball.
And all Ferris has to do is make sure he isn’t tempted to keep them. The problem is, temptation is Blackheart’s specialty, and from the moment they meet it’s clear that he’d love to steal Ferris away from her stodgy life.
When the emeralds disappear, Blackheart is a top suspect. His reputation–and Ferris’s hard-won social standing–are at stake. What’s a woman to do when she’s got to kick off her high heels and follow her heart?
Catspaw 2
He won her love. But is it enough to keep him out of trouble? Being engaged to sexy-hot reformed cat burglar Patrick Blackheart, now a legit security expert, is thrilling, but a challenge. Ferris Byrd has loosened up, but she’s still a law-abiding socialite, and Blackheart promised to steer clear of his old habits. If he doesn’t, the wedding is off.
When a string of jewel heists in Europe matches Blackheart’s recent travel itinerary, Ferris fears he’s succumbed to his old ways. Why was he secretive about his whereabouts? She wants to believe that someone’s setting him up,
but . . .
An exhibit of Faberge eggs at the San Francisco Museum is the ultimate catnip for a jewel thief, and Ferris is in charge of them. She’ll be ready and waiting to unmask this cat burglar.
She desperately hopes he’s not Blackheart.

Breaking hearts is what wild and rebellious Mason Kincaid does best. Hit it and quit it is his motto, and with his bad boy reputation and tattoos, he doesn’t lack for female companionship. Until one hot night with the one woman he swore he’d never touch becomes an all consuming addiction he can’t kick. Katrina Sands has been his best friend for years, but now that he knows what she feels like, and tastes like, there is no going back to being just friends. Hot, dirty sex has never felt so good…or so right.
“Unwillingly won over” may be the best recommendation for a book–or anything, really. Thanks.
I think the Catspaw books were part of the Harlequin Intrigue or Silhouette Intimate Moments imprints, so they are probably not as dark as some of Anne Stuart’s later books. OTOH, they were published in the 1980s, when alpha heroes and TSTL heroines were allowed to run rampant, so buyer beware.
Also they are showing as $1.99 on Amazon.
I’ve read and enjoyed a couple other Eve Langlais books – they’ve all been light and sexy and on the silly side. The ones I’ve read were set in Canada, fwiw.
I read the Catspaw books when they first came out and liked them both (especially the first). They are Stuart’s homage to romantic caper films (think “To Catch a Thief” or “How to Steal a Million”) and are fairly light-hearted. The H&H, Patrick Blackheart and Ferris Byrd, in particular are terrific in the first story — the second book splits time between them and a second couple. It’s not as strong a book imho but I still enjoyed it. There is also a short story/novella about Patrick’s and Francesca’s son, but I think it is the weakest of three stories about Blackheart. That one was published years later in a Harlequin anthology, but I can’t remember the anthology’s title.
And yes I think the Catspaw books were both Harlequin Intrigues so not super long books, but fun. I’m pretty sure I still have my original copies of the them tucked away at home.
