In a world of danger and deception, she walks the line–between seductive passion and scandalous murder…
Eve Dallas is a New York police lieutenant hunting for a ruthless killer. In over ten years on the force, she’s seen it all–and knows her survival depends on her instincts. And she’s going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire–and a suspect in Eve’s murder investigation. But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it’s up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about–except the addictive hunger of needing his touch.
Naked in Death, 1
Glory in Death, 2
Immortal in Death, 3
Rapture in Death, 4
The first three books in this series are some of the best in our genre. I loved them. I have re-read them repeatedly and I think, more than individual Nora Roberts books, these three have spawned countless copycats (particularly in the form of Roarke, the enigmatic billionaire). If you buy these books at Amazon, you can purchase the Audible copies for $3.99 each. It’s a pretty great deal. Highly recommend.

Sleigh Bells in the Snow by Sarah Morgan. $ .99 AMZN | iBooks
From the Jacket Copy:
USA TODAY bestselling author Sarah Morgan heats up the season with the O’Neil brothers in a brand-new holiday series!
Once upon a time, Christmas was Kayla Green’s favorite time of year. Now all the workaholic wants for Christmas is for it to be over—as fast as possible! So when duty calls her to snowy Vermont to close a deal with a new client, Kayla is grateful for an excuse to avoid the holidays for another year.
Jackson O’Neil left a thriving business behind to return home and salvage his family’s resort—it’s in his blood, and he can’t let it fail. Now that he’s got marketing whiz Kayla Green working with him to put Snow Crystal on the map, success is on the horizon. The fact they strike enough sparks off each other to power all the Christmas lights in Vermont is just an added bonus.
Kayla might be an expert at her job, but she’s out of her depth with Jackson—he makes her crave the happy-ever-after she once dreamed of, and it’s terrifying. As the snowflakes continue to swirl, will the woman who doesn’t believe in the magic of Christmas finally fall under its spell?
“Readers who are used to my reviews know what a curmudgeon I can be; even when an author is an autobuy, all their books aren’t equally good for me. But when I finished this book, I honestly couldn’t think of any major weaknesses that took away from my reading pleasure. I’m sure other readers will find aspects that don’t work for them. But for me, this story combines all the things I love about contemporaries, small-town romances, and holiday stories, and it puts familiar features together in ways that don’t feel run-of-the-mill.”

Love Overdue by Pamela Morsi. $ 1.99 AMZN | Apple.
From the Jacket Copy:
Meet Dorothy Jarrow: devotedly unsexy librarian
Buttoned-up book lover DJ is all sensible shoes, drab skirts and studious glasses. After an ill-advised spring-break-fueled fling left her mortified, she’s committed to her prim and proper look. When she’s hired by a rural library in middle-of-nowhere Kansas, she finally has the lifestyle to match—and she can’t wait to get her admin on.
But it’s clear from day one that the small-town library is more interested in circulating rumors than books. DJ has to organize her unloved library, win over oddball employees and avoid her flamboyant landlady’s attempts to set her up with the town pharmacist. Especially that last part—because it turns out handsome Scott Sanderson is her old vacation fling! She is not sure whether to be relieved or offended when he doesn’t seem to recognize her. But with every meeting, DJ finds herself secretly wondering what it would be like to take off her glasses, unpin her bun and reveal the inner vixen she’s been hiding from everyone—including herself.
I just read the Maisey Yates novella and the first book in the trilogy it introduces yesterday. It was… odd. They very much have the feel of the id-vortex BDSM serials like Bared To You. Except not in first person. And each book has a different couple to focus on. And the plots kind of make sense. I was expecting HP and it isn’t that, but I don’t quite know what it is.
Tucker by Juliana Stone is free on Amazon at least. Tori at Smexy books gave it a B+.
