“…an entomology professor…”
Once I told someone I had known for a number of years that as a kid the first thing I thought would make an interesting career was etymology. Startled, they stopped what they were doing, stared at me and replied: I had no idea you were interested in bugs.
Cold Hearted is a decent read. It’s one of an uneven series. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t an explicit rape scene, but the plot is about tracking down a rapist and there’s a lot of discussion of what he is thinking, etc. I didn’t have a problem with the heroine, but this (and the other books) tend to have some TSTL moments for the main characters, which I personally find annoying. I would give it 3.5 stars and it’s worth a read at $0.99.
@LML: I read what her specialty is and noped out. Spiders and me are not friends. No no no no no no no.
@LML. I see what you did there. It took me awhile. I shared it with the 9 year old, who saw it right away. He is fascinated both by creepy crawlies and words/ languages. He then informed me that the proper word for a “spider scientist” is arachnologist. Then he spelled it for me and explained (at great length) the origin of words relating to arachnids. Sigh… I asked him how it is that any child related to me could manage to take all the fun out of the Greek myths.
