No one creates realms like New York Times bestselling author Anne Bishop. Now in a thrilling new fantasy series, enter a world inhabited by the Others, unearthly entities—vampires and shape-shifters among them—who rule the Earth and whose prey are humans.
As a cassandra sangue, or blood prophet, Meg Corbyn can see the future when her skin is cut—a gift that feels more like a curse. Meg’s Controller keeps her enslaved so he can have full access to her visions. But when she escapes, the only safe place Meg can hide is at the Lakeside Courtyard—a business district operated by the Others.
Shape-shifter Simon Wolfgard is reluctant to hire the stranger who inquires about the Human Liaison job. First, he senses she’s keeping a secret, and second, she doesn’t smell like human prey. Yet a stronger instinct propels him to give Meg the job. And when he learns the truth about Meg and that she’s wanted by the government, he’ll have to decide if she’s worth the fight between humans and the Others that will surely follow.

Seven Sons by Lili St Germain. $ FREE.
From the Jacket Copy:
*Please note this book is dark romance and deals with serious themes including rape, violence and murder.*
This story unfolds over seven volumes approx. 25 – 30,000 words each.
My father was most certainly NOT an innocent man. As the leader of the Gypsy Brothers MC, he was guilty of many things. But he died for a crime that he didn’t commit, framed by an enemy within who then stole his club and everything he had ever worked to protect.
Including my innocence.
When Dornan Ross framed my father, he set into motion a series of events that could never be undone. My father was murdered by Dornan Ross and his sons when I was fifteen years old.
Before my father died, Dornan and his sons stole my innocence, branded my skin and in doing so, ensured that their lives would be prematurely cut short. That they would suffer.
I’ve just turned twenty-one, and I’m out for blood. I’m out for revenge.
But I didn’t expect to fall for Jase, the youngest brother in the club.
I didn’t expect that he would turn my world upside down, yank my heart out of my chest and ride away into the sunset with it.
Now, I’m faced with an impossible choice – Jase, or avenging my fathers death?
Six Brothers, #2 in the Gypsy Brothers series, releases on February 16th 2014
The Jessica Clare Games books are .99 on Kindle.
@MaryK: Thank you! I’ve been wanting to read these! I bought them all. :) The first book is free. Sale lasts through 12/10.
I can’t tell from the description above whether there is a “romance” in this Anne Bishop series; would this book be considered a paranormal romance?
I just can’t understand why any woman would use the phrase “stole my innocence.” It implies that the loss of naivety is the problem, not being gang-raped.
@Amy: There’s chemistry between Meg and Simon but it’s not really a romance, at least not in this first book of the series. I think the book is classified as urban fantasy rather than paranormal romance.
@Amy: My impression is that it’s urban fantasy with romantic elements. I’ve been keeping a wary eye on the series to see where it goes. Since the third book gets a good report, I’m going to start picking them up.
@Amy: No, it’s definitely UF. but over the course of the three books, there is enough romance for me. It’s light, but present. Simon’s attachment to Meg and vice versa is an important part of the series/worldbuilding.
@Jane: am so jealous that you have read the third book and am glad that it didn’t disappoint. Its going to be a long wait until the release in March.
@Karen H: I almost regret reading the third book because now I have just as long of a wait. But yes, it was very good and I’m excited about the series. I only hope we’re allowed to have a happy ending…
Thanks for the replies.
