DAILY DEALS: A few bundles of love
Verite by Rachel Blaufield $ 0.99
From the Jacket Copy:
That’s me—Tingly Simmons—athlete, foreign-language major, professor lover, obsessed idiot girl. Definitely not a frat rat or sorority slut. I’ve never even played beer pong.
I ditched the vapid, soulless high-society life of Los Angeles for the promise of something more meaningful in rural Ohio. Accepting a track scholarship for college, I tried running my way to happiness, but instead I ended up sleeping with my French professor and falling head over heels for him.
When that relationship fell apart, so did I.
Barely hanging on by a thread and using the most absurd coping skills, I was determined to hide behind my past indiscretions. That was, until I met Tiberius Jones. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d learn the truth about love from a six-foot-five basketball player.

I read Code Name: Baby some years ago; I’d describe it as full length.
Putting “sorority slut” right there in the book description was a bold move.
@Ren Benton: That’s one word for it, and a heroine I don’t care to know any further.
I don’t know about Verite. I agree with Jane – I love the cover and that there’s an AA hero of a basketball romance.
But those names – Tingly and Tiberius! And the sorority slut comment. And I went to college in rural Ohio and there wasn’t much to do there besides study and drink and have sex.
I really liked Verité. I do not like ski shaming but this is from the heroine’s point of view, and she feels very conflicted about her own choices, and is judging herself harshly. The follow up book is a hot mess, however. Still wish I could unread it….
Should have been slut shaming, not ski. Sorry
Ski shaming is a real thing in Aspen I hear. ;)
