What’s new and exciting at LSB? 2008 has been a year of renewal for Liquid Silver. First stage was increasing our staff. Tina Burns took over the role of Publisher to lead LSB in an expansion phase by increasing submissions, author retention, and moving Liquid Silver to be more visible in the ePublishing world. We brought Tracey West on board as our Acquisitions Editor, and Maria Rogers as our Publishing Admin.
We’ve updated our Submission Guidelines, and added a new heat level, Sterling Silver. This category will feature stories that allow for emotional buildup leading to the culmination of relationship sex, longer sensual tension. All genres are accepted for this heat level. We’ve also opened up our Molten Silver line to include “sterling” type stories for GLBT characters.
We lowered our word count acceptance from 20K minimum to 15K. We felt that anything less than 15K would hinder our focus on bringing quality, well developed stories to the masses.
In 2009 we’re launching a year long series highlighting Firemen, titled Hearts Afire. While we continue to accept and publish all genres, you’ll see more themed calls for submissions as well as a few secret projects we’ve got …
Dear Ms. Gregory,
What can I say but, my goodness, that was different from what I normally read. Honestly I’m not even sure what caught my attention in the book blurb. I guess I thought this might be some kind of alien mild meld, meeting of two different cultures kind of thing. Well, it’s that and a whole lot of sex more. And since everybody needs to read a two-cocked alien story once in her life and I figured I’d better get cracking.
Dr. Rayne Warren is among the scientists who’ve been chosen to meet with the aliens who have finally openly contacted Earth. They’ve been abducting Earthlings to study for years, Rayne among them, but now are ready for full contact. As it were. Rayne’s field of study is the clinical analysis of human sexuality. And since the aliens seem to have a more openly sexual culture, Rayne is thrilled at the chance to study them. She’s never found fulfillment in any human sexual relationships and as she watches informational DVDs of the aliens’ mating practices, she can’t help but wonder if she could find it with one of them. Imagine, making love with a male …
Dear Ms Cassidy,
And now for something completely different. The other two books of yours I’ve read have been heavy on the paranormal and had more of a humorous feel to them. Though “Sex with Your Ex” has humor and a paranormal element, it’s mainly a marriage in trouble book. It’s also got such an emotional depth to it. Just as your heroine, Melina, does, readers will have to decide whether or not they can forgive a hero who’s committed the ultimate betrayal.
I thought you handled the payoff scene brilliantly. I mean, how many times have I wanted a wounded heroine to really let the hero have it with both barrels only to have her forgive and forget too quickly? Too damn many. And I love how Melina’s actions and feelings are a product of how she was raised. I appreciate that Brady knows he f*cked up, knows how much he hurt the woman he loves so much and is willing to work to save his marriage. Melina’s honesty with herself was refreshing too.
I have one niggle that keeps this from being an A grade and since it’s kind …
Dear Ebook Publishers,
Do you people not want readers to purchase books from you? It certainly seems like it. I decided to buy 6 books, 2 from Samhain, 2 from Triskelion, 1 from Cerridwen and 1 from Liquid Silver. By the way Liquid Silver people, this is what is listed on your dl page

Copyright (c) 2003 All Rights Reserved Do you people not have a spell check?Anyway, after finally navigating my way through this site, I entered my information as new customer at Triskelion and bought one book. And then waited and waited and waited for the email with the damn dl key. It took over an hour and a half to get to me. One of the nice things about ebooks is the instant availability. An hour and a half isn’t instant to moi. Then I bought a second book. Or tried to. Your site kept declining my credit card purchase. The same cc that was just accepted 2 hours ago. Finally, after 3 tries, I said *&^%$# it and purchased the book with paypal.
On to Samhain. Good Lord your site is hard to navigate. Harder than Triskelion …
