An absolute glut of historical fiction. Kind of surprising.
I can’t tell if this is historical fiction or just literary with a historical-fiction-sounding title. Is it safe to say that Avon A is the most confusing imprint ever and that possibly even those in charge of Avon A don’t really know what the brand stands for?

I had to ask someone what ‘Shane’ was. It’s a western. So western + Mad Max + Urban Fantasy = A female version of King’s Gunslinger series?

I’m guessing standard urban fantasy. It’s a fairly safe bet lately.
Stephen Deas’s THE ADAMANTINE PALACE, to Ginjer Buchanan of Berkley Ace, in a very nice deal, in a three-book deal, by Susan Howe at Orion UK.
Now I have Blondie’s ‘Heart of Glass’ going through my head.

The back blurb for this Harlequin Next book was a little confusing. Something about grown children and empty nest syndrome and being in Hell. Well, that’s a lot of the story but not quite all.
