Jobs Tells NYTimes: People Don’t Read

images1.jpgWhen asked at MacWorld about the Kindle, Steve Jobs replied that “[t]he whole conception is flawed at the top because people don’t read anymore.” So all those rumors and dreams about Apple building an iPod for Readers is dashed. Apple iPhone Price Drop Plus New Touchscreen IPods

Apple announced a new slate of IPods today including a 8 mm thick touchscreen one that looks just like the iPhone, only slimmer.

The current slate of iPods/iPhones are:

iPod Shuffle ($79)
iPod Nano ($149, $199)

iPod Classic, ($249, $349)

iPod Touch, ($299, $399)

iPhone ($399) - this is a two hundred dollar price drop

I am totally happy with it and will blog about it once I can get the screenshot utility to work. With the new iPod Touch and the lower priced iPhone, Apple has a viable alternative for ebook reading.

The hardware, or processor, running the iPhone is fast and strong.* The interface changes from phone to mail to ipod in matter of seconds. On my MotoQ, there was always a drag when switching applications. The biggest difference I noted was when I went to use the camera application. On my MotoQ, the object …
