Just finished this book, and I would love this cover even more if the heroine had a bandaid on her ankle like I orignally thought she did (I can't be the only one with incessently bad judgment in footwear, right? Right. Miranda proved that in the novel).

I love books on food, and found a lot of familiar things in that book, not just from reading "Kitchen Confidential" and "Heat" but also from having hung out with waiters and chefs back in my customer service hell days. And I loved that the secondary romance was a gay couple, I've been waiting for romance to get with the times on that one since I started reading the genre.

I did have a couple of problems with the book, but I'll wait for the actual review and keep this comment section spoiler-free. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I just wanted to report to everyone that the Kindle price for this book is now down to $6.99, same as the paperback.

Louisa emailed me this morning to announce the winners:

Christine M. (commenter #29) as the winner of the ARC and apron.
And because of the awesome response, Louisa is going to give away three signed finished copies to Leslie (#22), Karen (#55), and Bridget3420 (#64). Please email me with your snail mail (jane at dearauthor.com). Thanks folks!

Great first sale story. Can't wait to check out the book. Sounds like a fun read.

I like the cover art concept.

But I have to ask, am I the ONLY one who thinks that cover model's anatomy looks a little odd?? It looks as if she has no butt cheeks at all, like a store mannequin or something.

Ah your story sounds so familiar Louisa! While I adore paranormals & urban fantasy, I just can't seem to write them - at least w/o something in the narrative feeling "off," or "forced." Thank you so much for your post.

Congratulations on your debut! I hope CAN'T STAND THE HEAT burns up the best seller lists. :)

Oh, wow!! I can't believe your release day is finally here! Congrats, Louisa. As a huge fan of food in general (and of heroes and heroines feeding each other delicious things... :), I've been looking forward to this series for a long time!

Loved the post and the book!

I'm a big foodie and this story is smart, fun, and sexy. I loved the chemistry between the characters and with Louisa's descriptions of mouth-watering cuisine, I was ready to go out for some fine dining... :)

I like the title of this book, it's cute.

I'm adding this book to my TBB list. I'm always open for books with cooking, whether the hero or heroine is the chef doesn't matter to me. Congrats!
