Loved it … and the Very Famous Person (in the person of Bertie aka HRH) was extremely well done. Perhaps a bit more length wouldn’t have come amiss but really, I just flat out enjoyed it.

Thank you so much for this review. It never would have occurred to me to look for a new Betina Krahn in the Harlequin Blaze books. I really like her books and I am thoroughly enjoying this one.

It’s a real puzzle. She is so much better than 90 percent of the historical authors, but she seems to get no attention and, apparently, no contracts. Is it that the editors are idiots or does she just have a lousy agent?

@Robin: Thank you so much for that tip. After some searching I found the offer and since Harlequin is happy to sell to German customers, I was able to buy it. Blaze Historicals Bundle Unfortunately BooksonBoard has instituted (since the creation of their UK shop) a policy of not selling English books to other countries for publishers who want that, when your paypal address (for the credit card) is not from the US. I'm unable to buy most of the new ebooks, as Waterstones.co.uk only offers a very small genre selection. I'm so happy for publishers who are willing to sell a book in English to a German reader.

FYI for anyone on the fence about this book, I just got it at Books on Board as part of the Harlequin Blaze historicals bundle, along with Jade Lee’s The Concubine and Hope Tarr’s Bound To Please, and the whole thing was less than 5 bucks! Which, as far as I’m concerned, is basically free.

And on a totally unrelated note, what the hell is up with Fictionwise? Are they *trying* to have the absolute worst selection around? I don’t want to break up with my Micropay dollars, but dang, I have had a hard time finding anything there, lately.

I just started this one but so far it’s very good. LOVE Mariah and Jack is quite sexy. But I am thinking it would benefit from a longer length because these characters have quite a bit of depth that I’m not sure will be fully explored in 211 pages. But that remains to be seen. I’ll keep reading and, hopefully, enjoying. I’ve enjoyed just about everything Ms Krahn has written over the years.

I got this after you mentioned it on Twitter (I’m a fan of Krahn’s from way back, but hadn’t realized she was writing Blaze Historicals) and just loved it. The heroine was such a nice surprise. I haven’t read anyone quite like her before. Also, the conflict and the tension it created felt very genuine, as was their reactions to it. Just a lovely, fun book.

I *loved* this book, It was so witty and frothy and fast-paced. “A breath of fresh air” is a great description. A really fun little package of sexy flirtation and historical shenanigans.
