What’s this you say? I read quite a few blogs outside the romance blogosphere and many of the big ones have a daily open thread where the commenters drive the bus. This is the Monthly thread for Authors to come and post about their new releases. Because I am full of fail, I forgot to post a Promo Thread for May; thus everyone who has a release in May or June 2009 should post here.
The rules for Author Promo Night Open Thread are as follows:
- The book has to be released in that month (i.e., anything released during the last week of April would be a May release)
- You can post for yourself or you can have a friend post for you if the idea of posting about your book paralyzes you .
- No self published authors unless you write romance. No, I am not a POD hater, I am just thinking about the manageability of the thread.
- Think about the readership. I.e., does your non fiction book about psoriasis really fit?
- This one is more of a guideline than a rule, but be smart about your comment because if it is just a link to your website and the title of your book, I doubt you are going to get any interest.
- DA reserves the right to delete the post if it promotes objectionable content (i.e., no daddy/daughter incest recommends are going to be allowed. Sorry.)
That’s it. Post away.

Thank you, Jane.

Between Tooth and Paw by Kim Dare

Thrown in between the future alpha of all the werewolf packs and the next head of all the vampire clans – the entirely human Jasmine Neal is charged with the task of helping the two younger men to forget their differences and set aside their hatred for each other.
Offering Stafford and Hayden her submission is easy. Offering them her body brings her nothing but pleasure. But she’s only been sent to submit to them for one night. When the council of elders return to discover if their scheme to settle the men’s differences is successful, she knows that the joy she finds with the two men will be over.
Mating Season by Nadia Aidan

But with her mating season just a week away she may not have any choice because when she goes into heat every lycan within a mile of her will be at her door. Good thing she has two sexy candidates in mind that would be perfect to help her out with her little problem.
Two master vampires, one werewolf in heat, and the primal spell of the full moon – it’s definitely mating season.
Magical Ménage by Crissy Smith
Non-practising witch Madison Montgomery can’t decide between the vampire and werewolf…is it possible to have them both?
Madison Montgomery craves and wants two very different men. Instead of choosing one, she avoids both. Tired of waiting for her to make up her mind, Master Vampire Dante and the local wolf pack’s Alpha Tom come up with an agreement of their own. If she won’t choose one of them, she’ll have both.
The pleasure she’s given is more than she ever thought possible. One night will never be enough. If she thought it was hard to pick one of them as a lover, once she has them both, it is next to impossible to imagine being without both of them. When Madison gets a visit from the past, Dante and Tom have to work together to keep her safe. Once that is accomplished, they just have to talk her into permanently accepting a threesome.
Trouble for Three by Sascha Illyvich
One hot woman, two incredibly handsome gentlemen, how can this get any better?
Fed up with stupid men who can’t decide what they want, Anneke leaves work one afternoon and ends up going out with a few girlfriends only to spy two cute guys watching them. Specifically, they’re both paying attention to her.
Wondering what it would be like to have them both to herself, Anneke arranges to meet the guys sans her girlfriends just so she can get into a little trouble on her own!

Keeper of the Way, my debut novella releases June 4th. Here’s the blurb, the opening and an excerpt:
Aftermath cleaner, Nia’Mora, is destined to die—tonight. Severin, the inscrutable and utterly delicious harbinger of death has already arrived to bear witness…but damn his duty. He will not stand by and watch. Not when Nia’Mora may be the Fae’s last hope of survival.
Damn Severin and his heroic delusions. Fae-tech mogul, Zan Wynn, is equally drawn to Nia’Mora and as the quintessential—yes, those are your panties dropping—bad boy he can’t be bothered to play fair.
Oblivious to her doom, Nia’Mora focuses on the missing Way, the very essence of the Fae and the reason they are trapped in the mortal world. That and the small matter of remaining single when she can’t deny Severin’s power over her…or Zan Wynn’s hypnotic pull. But is Wynn a second potential mate or the prelude to her destruction?
Opening:
10:15 PM
Dragon thorns were very efficient, Nia’Mora mused. She would be dead from poison-induced paralysis in a matter of heartbeats. And she felt no pain…nothing…other than the agony of her bond-mate. Tears splashed against the cold amber floors beneath her cheek. If not for that, death would be almost pleasant. It was all so clear now, but she wasn’t shown her entire life, as she’d come to expect. Instead, the flickering images replayed only this: her final day…
Excerpt:
…yet her beauty seemed inconsequential. It was her spirit that drew him. She shone from the inside out in layers of radiance that lit her aura like an expanding sun. He had witnessed the deaths of Florence Nightingale, Joan of Arc, Michelangelo, but tonight, for the first time, he wanted to avert destiny. Not merely step aside and watch it have its way.
The sexual charge racing between the pair sent out smoke signals. Anyone could see that if left unchecked it would eventually spark spontaneous conception. Ryelle looked back and forth at their faces and indicated Nii with a gesture. “This is my great friend, Nia’Mora of the Sun + Sand.”
Nia’Mora shot her a look, obviously unappreciative of the helping hand.
Severin waited. Nii said nothing, choosing to stare at his chest rather than face him. Strangely, her reaction delighted him. “Nia’Mora,” he began. He liked the feel of her name on his tongue. “Won’t you look at me?”
Quicker than a fox, she jumped up from the platform and made a run for it. Too bad her getaway led right past him. He caught her hand reflexively. She stopped, body tense, but did not turn around.
What the hell had possessed him to touch her? Qilin rarely touched anyone who wasn’t family, and he didn’t need physical contact to remain at her side. Yet—he needed to touch her. Rising, he kept his hand tightly but gently wrapped around her wrist. Moving up behind her, he forced himself to stop short of snuggling up to her incredible backside. Damn. If she had longer to live he’d do things to her that would make her toes curl. He settled for dipping his head to her ear, his words a whispering kiss.
“Nia’Mora, can I just say…,” he paused, “wow.”

“Submission” is an erotic Regency novella releasing Thursday, June 4 at Red Rose Publishing!
Blurb and Excerpt
Lady Juliet De Mar is a confirmed bachelorette and a member of the exclusive London Literary Club, a secret sex club for the more libidinous of the London ton. After taunting her childhood friend and wealthy sea captain, James Wakefield, with the club’s bondage games, she decides to kidnap him and bring him to his knees—and to the altar—or end their acquaintance forever.
But her plan backfires when she’s kidnapped herself. Blindfolded and shackled, she becomes the property of a notorious pirate, the murderous Captain Black, purchased for his pleasure. When her deepest, erotic fantasies become a dangerous reality, will Juliet be forced into submission? Or will she learn what she needs to know to master James?
Excerpt:
“Your timing is atrocious, James. I have a very important party to host tomorrow.” She dropped into the settee across from him and smoothed the wrinkles from her dress. “An engagement party.”
He chuckled softly. “You?”
“Why not me?” She stood and reached across the space between them, took his brandy snifter out of his hand, and took a sip. A large one. She forced herself not to choke on the fumes that rose up the back of her nose. “You’re the second person this evening who’s implied I’m some kind of ogre that eats lovers.”
“Don’t you?” He raised one dark slash of brow at her. “I thought your little club specialized in that sort of thing.”
“Don’t start, Wakefield. You’ve already registered all your prudish complaints, no need to keep poking me about it. Besides, just because I wouldn’t marry you, doesn’t mean I despise the entire institution.”
“Of course you do,” he said, taking his snifter back with a proprietary little tug. “You have your little club to amuse you and you believe you need nothing else.”
She snatched the snifter out of his hand and downed the contents. The fumes made her eyes water, and she coughed once but spoke through it. “If men were capable of providing anything else, I’d be of quite a different opinion.”
He glared at her a moment. “I’m not a prude,” he said. “I’m simply worried about you. One of these days, one of those…perverts….”
“Perverts? Oh please, Wakefield, they’re not perverts. And there is absolutely no danger. It’s just harmless fun. You do know what fun is, don’t you?”
“You know, Jules, there are deranged people in the world.” He rose and came to perch on the edge of her settee. He took the empty snifter from her hand and set it upon the lace doily atop the end table. Then he clasped her two small hands in his large warm ones. “What if someone gets…overzealous?”
The warmth of his skin made her shiver in the relative chill of the library. His normally cool blue eyes reflected turbulent currents beneath, and Juliet closed her eyes to escape his gaze.
Here we go again. Damned man, why couldn’t he stay away? She hated when he looked at her like that. Almost as if he gave a damn.
She pulled her hands from his. The alcohol had gone to her head, and she wasn’t going to go around this bush again. “The club is perfectly safe. It’s very hush-hush, very exclusive, as you’d know if you’d ever had the stones to accept any of my invitations. And no one gets overzealous. We use a code if we need to call a halt. For example…imagine I’ve tied you up….”
“Tied me up!”
“Oh, hush, Wakefield. Say I’ve tied you up, and the rope’s too tight and starting to cut. One might say, ‘Dear, the rope’s a tad tight, could you let it up a bit?’ But what fun would that be? There’s no real feeling of danger if you can just ask to be released.”
“So you agree that it’s dangerous,” he said, leaning smugly back into the settee beside her with an air of checkmate about him.
“Of course not. It just has to seem dangerous. That’s the fantasy.” She parted her lips in a way that was meant to unnerve him, then leaned closer and whispered in his ear. “Don’t you find danger…erotic?”
“You mean me, personally?”
“I mean you. Personally.” She ran her finger along the edge of his stubbled jaw, enjoying the rasp of it under her skin. She knew it was the brandy making her toy with him, and she was vaguely aware that it made her not care. He deserved to be tormented. James Wakefield was probably the only man in the entire world who would have made a wonderful husband.
If only he weren’t afraid of his own ballocks.
She ran her finger down the cord of his neck, dipped it beneath his open collar, toyed with the loosened knot of his cravat. “Doesn’t it excite you? The danger, the intensity, the fear of not knowing what will become of you, being totally at the mercy of another?” She leaned in and let her warm breath linger on the soft flesh beneath his ear. “It makes your heart race and your breath come quick and sharp, and the suspense of what each moment will bring makes even the barest touch as intense as pure flame.”
He took her hand from his neck and stood, then walked away from her and came to rest before the fire. “Flames burn, Juliet.”
Her heart fell and crashed upon the floor. Damn him. Damn him. James Wakefield might be her oldest and dearest friend, but the only one thing that made his heart race was his ship. Or perhaps his first mate, some vindictive, jealous beast inside her added. But not her. Never her.
She swept up the bits of her heart and stuffed them back inside, as she’d done many times in the past, each time swearing she’d never toss it to him again. She had to swallow to speak, but damn him, he would not win this hand.
“Perhaps overzealous would be a nice change.” She forced herself to meet his gaze with devil-may-care candor. “Paunchy earls dressed as highwaymen and pirates lose their excitement after a while.”

STORY BLURB:
Raised by the Prince of Antaka, Celina Rodriquez, is forced to leave the island and live life in America. Refusing to follow in the footsteps of her mother, she promises herself she will not fall for the charms of any American.
When Drake is asked to teach the Antakian princess the way women in California live, he thought he’d be busy teaching her about movies, yachting, and the local fashion.
Instead he finds himself losing his heart to a woman who swears she has sexual moves that will rock his world, and thinks nothing of walking around naked.
Will Drake succumb to her wicked ways?
EXCERPT:
Drake took a step toward Celina, but she stepped backwards. Her foot didn’t touch ground, and her arms reached out, grasping for something to stop her fall.
“Celina!”
She heard his voice call to her, before her head went underwater. She held her breath before the tepid water engulfed her, and she felt herself sinking. Lower, and lower.
The bottom of the pool helped her push up, and her head broke the surface. Drake kneeled beside the pool with his hand out, reaching for her. She tried to swim away, but her hair tangled around her arms.
“Here you go. I got you.”
The cold air rushed at her body, causing her to shake. Drake stared at her body, and she glanced down. The water turned her dress transparent, and it clung to her curves like a second skin. She made no move to cover herself.
“Stop it.”
“What?” His eyes stayed glued to her chest.
“Stop staring at me like you want to eat me for dinner. It is wrong,” she said, crossing her arms to cover her breasts. “You American men…ugh, you can’t be trusted!”
It didn’t help seeing the hungry expression on Drake’s face. Her hardened nipples tingled, and she wanted nothing more then to lean into him, to steal his body warmth.
His lips moved, and instead of hearing his words, she imagined those same lips on her skin. Shivering, she stood before him, tempting fate.
The magnetic pull toward his body, set her skin on fire. He brushed her hair away from the front of her face, his hand skimming the side of her cheek. She curled her head into the heat of his flesh, and her eyes closed automatically.
The warm, moist, brush of his breath against her cheek warned her. He was going to kiss her. She arched her neck, and her chest touched his. Control of her body orchestrated by something alien inside her, she fought.
“Oh. No. No.” This could not happen. “I can’t. Drake, this is wrong.”
She ran past Drake, through the house, until she slammed her bedroom door. Her fingers flitted over the lock, not knowing if she locked Drake out, or herself in. Papa spoke the truth. Part of her mother still lived inside her. Damn Mama.
Thanks for the opportunity, Jane

“Sapphire Night” (Excerpt)
by
Kaia Logan
“Hi,” he said, stepping into the small space of the elevator. The rumble of his voice sent a little run of goose bumps up her spine.
“Hi again.” She tried not to stare. He’d looked good last night in his jeans and T-shirt, but in a tux? “I guess you’re not heading to the pub tonight.”
“Not tonight.” A smile crinkled the corners of his blue eyes. “It’s the monkey suit for me.”
“And a very nice monkey suit it is,” she said. “Although…” Her gaze lingered on his bowtie. It was a crazy impulse, she knew, but she wanted to step closer, have a chance to inhale his scent, feel the heat of his body.
“What? Am I crooked?” He reached a tanned hand to the base of his throat.
Jacquie stepped forward. With fingers that trembled ever so slightly, she straightened the already straight bowtie. He smelled—and looked—even better up close. His blue eyes were entirely serious all of a sudden. A slow pulse began between her thighs, she couldn’t look away.
“Thanks,” he murmured, and seemed about to say something else when the elevator door slid open. Lights from the ceiling chandeliers and the hum of voices from the foyer washed into the small space.
“You’re welcome,” she said, stepping back.
There was a beat of silence, and then Ethan offered his arm. “Shall we?”
Jacquie tucked her hand into the crook of his elbow. That pulse still beat low in her belly, and the feel of his muscled arm, even through the fabric of his jacket, didn’t help. This is crazy, but I don’t care. This evening is already going better than I could possibly have imagined a few hours ago. In fact…
An image, startlingly vivid, flashed through her mind. Ethan’s mouth coming down on hers, his hands sliding the straps of her dress from her shoulders, his hands exploring her body until she shivered and moaned…

The third book in my award-winning Damaged Heroes series — All the Right Reasons — released the end of April. I’m proud to say that I now represent four of the slots in my publisher’s top ten mainstream romances. :-)
I wrote this book to honor all my former students who have chosen to join the military.
I’m also thrilled that all four of my books hit print in May!! I’m on both Amazon and Barnes and Noble websites!
Thanks for the opportunity, Jane!!
Thanks, Jane.
My debut release with Ellora’s Cave, LIBERATING LACEY, is now available and has received five stars from four different readers. You can buy it at http://www.jasminejade.com/p-7243-liberating-lacey.aspx. The blurb:
Newly divorced Lacey Meyers wasted too many years yawning through sex in the missionary position. Now she’s looking for a hookup with a man who can make her shatter. What she gets is a hot younger cop with handcuffs…and he’s not afraid to use them.
Hunter Anderson knows the score—though classy, successful women like Lacey might play with guys like him, at the end of the evening, they walk. But when one night leads to another and then another, he finds himself getting too attached to a woman he can’t have.
Lacey knows Hunter—gorgeous, hard-edged and eight years younger—won’t want anything permanent. No matter how hot and daring he makes her first public sex, quickie, backseat encounter and secret fantasy role-play, she can’t mistake adventurous sex for emotional involvement.
They both know it’s got to end, and soon, or someone’s going to get hurt. But can either of them go back to life without the other?
Reader Advisory: Lacey’s highly erotic “forced” sex fantasy comes true in this book. Lucky her!

My second cowboy menage, but the first in my new bull rider series, I wrote Unridden (and the not yet released sequel Bucked) with the help of the amateur bull rider I sponsor. The bull riding cowboy details may have come from him, but the romance author character is pretty much me! (without the exciting cowboy threesome, of course)
Unridden released last week and is still holding strong as the number 3 Best Seller at My Bookstore and More.

Romance writer Jenna Block has a problem: her agent thinks a cowboy book will jump start her career. A born New Yorker, Jenna doesn’t do cowboys, not on paper, and definitely not in real life. ANGEL WITH A RAY GUN released on May 1 from Desert Breeze Publishing. It’s available for the Kindle as well as in the usual formats.
Here’s a snippet from my “fun” book:
At two minutes after the hour, Matt heard a car door open. Certain that it was unseemly for a minister to peek through the windows, he put his eye to the open casement anyway. She put one leg out the car door. A slender, dainty leg, encased in black to the toe of the chunky, stylish shoe. Then the rest of her emerged, a sight that made his jaw drop.
She was built like original sin.
He gaped. The female, presumably AJ Mercer, put both hands behind a swan-like neck and took her time stretching the kinks out. With her short black skirt she wore an amber turtleneck, the sort of shirt nobody with a spare pound could manage. Her height was below average, though perfect proportions made those dancer’s legs appear longer than they could possibly be. Her hair was worn short, not long as he liked it on women. A sleek, trendy haircut for ebony-brown hair that shone like mink in the sun.
His mouth went dry with a sudden burst of interest. Now where on earth did that zip of awareness come from? “Relax,” he muttered, flexing tension out of his arms. “Twenty-nine, single, normal. People get attractions from time to time. Chill.”
The impossible editor grabbed a brown leather attaché and approached the church doors. Lloyd Daviess could bluster and boom until the Second Coming. Matt would not, could not court catastrophe like this. “Aw, c’mon, Greenlee,” he scolded himself. “Get real. You sound like a Dr. Seuss storybook.”
He glanced around. His office was its usual tidy self, courtesy of his faithful secretary Jeri and disposable dust rags. A few books, of course, piled on the flat surfaces, but nothing out of the ordinary for an SF writing preacher.
He prepared for this affront of an editor with the jazz dancer’s walk. Matt made sure his plaid shirt was tucked into his jeans all the way around. He scrubbed his front teeth with a frantic tongue, trying to recall if he’d eaten broccoli for lunch. He thrust both hands through his hair to finger-comb it, and fled his office. There wasn’t time for more.
Wrong again, Jake Starborn whispered just behind his left ear. It’s the Warrior’s duty to approve the female, not the other way around. “Shut up, Jake.” He forced himself to descend the stairs toward the parking lot.
His footsteps on the pavement didn’t make her glance his way, so he cleared his throat. “Hello.”
Her dark head snapped up. “This is a church.” She didn’t spit the word, not quite.

Two M/M releases for me in May and June, one a contemporary urban fantasy, one a futuristic urban fantasy.
InDescent was released May 11 at Liquid Silver Books.
Exploring Savage Places, Book 3 of my Utopia-X series for Loose Id, will be released Tuesday, June 9.
You have vampires. You have werewolves. You have demons and zombies and ghosts. You have shape-shifters. Even mermaids.
But do you have Mer MEN?
I do!
In Over Her Head is the first in my tongue-in-cheek, light-hearted paranormal Mer series from Sourcebooks, featuring a Mer man named Reel, and a woman, Erica, who’s terrified of the ocean. Toss in a chatty, suckerless remora fish named chum, a few sea monsters, stolen diamonds, Greek gods and a twin brother named Rod and things can get pretty fishy under the sea.
The blurb:
When Erica Peck, one terrified-of-the-ocean marina owner, finds herself at the bottom of the sea conversing with a Mer man named Reel, she thinks she’s died and gone to her own version of Hell. When the Oceanic Council demands she and Reel retrieve a lost cache of diamonds from the resident sea monster in return for their lives, she knows she’s died and gone to Hell.
When they escape the monster and end up on a deserted island, she amends her opinion – she’s died and gone to Heaven.
But when Reel sacrifices himself to allow her to return to her world, she realizes that, Heaven or Hell, with Reel, she’s In Over Her Head.
In Over Her Head is available now at Borders, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Amazon, etc. and links are available on my website: http://www.JudiFennell.com.
Also on my website is a contest to win one of 3 Romantic Beach Getaway Weekends to celebrate the release of In Over Her Head in June, Wild Blue Under (Rod and Valerie’s story) in November, and Catch of a Lifetime (Angel and Logan’s story) in February, 2010, courtesy of http://www.AtlantisInn.com and http://www.HibiscusHouse.com.
Dive into the Romance!
excerpt
Reel crossed his arms and studied her. “You’re taking this a lot better than I thought you would. I didn’t know Humans had such open minds.”
“Apparently we have lots of neat tricks, us humans. Like breathing water, for instance.” Erica sucked in a few pints just for kicks and giggles. She hoped she remembered this hallucination when her body recovered from the bends.
“Actually, you can’t breathe water.”
“But I am, ergo, I can.” She demonstrated again.
“Well, that’s only because I did that to you. To save your life.”
“Oh. Right.” She choked on that last pint. “Um, to save my life? Well, that’s a relief. I had thought that I might be um, well, dead, but then, this certainly isn’t my idea of Heaven. So, I’m alive but unconscious? I just have the bends, right? I mean, yes, I’m seeing you as a naked, water-breathing stud-muffin, but you’re really just an illusion, aren’t you? Maybe a doctor at the hospital some passing boater took me to?”
Reel didn’t say anything. He didn’t have to. The tittering of the little fish scattered among the whelk art answered for him.
“Um, Reel…?”
“Erica, I think you better rest on the bottom.”
“Why?” She did as he suggested, but put her hands up as he floated toward her. He had to be a figment of her imagination. He had to.
“Sweetheart, you’ve been out for a few days and you’re not in a hospital. You can’t have the bends because you never went up to the surface. Chum reminded me about them, actually. So I did the only thing I could.”
His face was grave, which, considering the situation, might not be an appropriate analogy, but then, what was appropriate when facing the impossible?
“What. Did. You. Do?”
“I turned you.”
“Turned me?” Somehow, that phrase did not offer comfort.
“Yes. Into a water-breather.” He crossed his arms, which flared some really nice pecs that tapered down to slim hips and–
Wait a minute–
“A fish? You turned me into a fish?” Forget the pecs. And other parts.
“Not a fish. Do you see any fins? Gills? You’re not even a Mer. I just gave you the ability to breathe underwater. Otherwise, you would’ve drowned. And Vincent would’ve had the right to, well, eat you. I couldn’t let that happen.”
“Of course you couldn’t.” Well, see? That made sense. “And Vincent was the, um, shark?”
“That’s right.” The faintest glimmer of pearly whites showed between his lips.
“And he wanted me for dinner.”
“Yes.” A bigger smile.
“So you somehow managed to re-route my entire oxygenation system and voila! Here I am at the bottom of the sea.”
“That’s it.” Full-out grin going.
“I’m going to be sick.” She turned her face to the side and felt her insides heave.
But then the floor blinked at her.
“What the hell was that?” she screamed, crab-walking backward.
“Flounder. They like to hang out in here since no predators are allowed.”
She put a hand on her chest, her heart beating three times as fast as normal. Or was that now normal with her newly-acquired aqua lungs? “Well there’s a relief. So I won’t have to worry about my body being torn apart by Vincent or others like him? Good to know. Now if I could only guarantee my mind won’t fall apart, I’ll be just fine.”
Thanks for letting us post!
In my May release FIRE ME, communications specialist Anne Wyatt heads into work one fine day prepared to hand in her resignation. But when she learns her mercurial boss is going to lay off an employee by the end of the day, Anne changes course and decides to try for the pink slip and its generous severance package instead. In a day of hilarious hijinks designed to grab her boss’ negative vibes, Anne learns a lot about life, love, and the choices she’s made in both. This romantic comedy has been called “inspired,” “hilarious,” “fast-paced,” and the “perfect beach bag” book.

From the Dear Author archives on a recent Berkley Giveaway(because I’d really rather have you all pimp my book than doing it myself)
Yes, you read that correctly. Other paranormal authors are writing about sleek beasts prowling through moonlit jungles and dark and dangerous men with fangs and capes and I’m stuck in…Sea World. This was such a, er, bold career move that Eloisa James blogged about it here:
Wild Kingdom!
SEA LORD was a May 5 release.
You can read an excerpt (and check out its awesome cover) here:

Thanks!
Oooh, and now I see Judi posted about Over Her Head. Obviously we’re on the same wavelength. (Pun intended.)
My debut YA novel (heavy on the romance), PRADA & PREJUDICE, comes out next week (June 11th!)
Back Cover Copy:
YA readers and fans of Jane Austen (or just regency historicals) should enjoy this one.
Thanks for letting me share!
My paranormal romance, THE TWILIGHT DECEPTION, releases June 8th from Liquid Silver Books.
The blurb:
Check out http://www.liquidsilverbooks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9196 for more info and an excerpt. :)
Thanks, Jane! :D
Thanks for the opportunity, ladies! I actually had one release in each of May and June, so here goes….
If you like pirates in spaaaaaaaccccceeeeeeeeee, then you may like a reverse Pygmalion that was released by Total-E-Bound last month. The title is A Pirate’s Passion:
My June release is a contemporary, with a female bodyguard guarding the male body for a change. It’s called Guarding His Body and will be out on 8 June, again from Total-E-Bound:
You can buy them here: A Pirate’s Passion / Guarding His Body
I have full first chapters of all my releases up on my site here.
Thanks for the opportunity to plug! :)
@Nonny How long is The Twilight Deception? And does Liquid Silver sell through any distributors right away or do they do delayed distribution? (just wondering where it can be bought from when it releases). Thanks!
@Maree Where is Even Demons Get the Blues available for purchase besides the Red Sage site?
Yes, I am one of those “one stop shopper” type of people :P But on the positive side for authors, it usually means I buy a lot more than just the book I went for.
Five of the books mentioned in this thread were edited by me, so I’m going to pimp them again: Personal Protection by Leah Braemel, Dear Sir, I’m Yours by Joely Sue Burkhart, Serengeti Heat by Vivi Andrews, Kiss and Kin by Kinsey Holley and The Man of Her Dreams by Robie Madison. I think they’re all amazing books!
I have two other releases in June not mentioned here. Silent Blade, a scifi romance novella by Ilona Andrews is available now from Samhain, and Miss Firecracker, a red hot contemporary novella, by Lorelei James releases at the end of June from Samhain.
Angela: Eep. Should have included that info!
The Twilight Deception is a little bit over 20k, and LSB uses delayed distribution. They’re exclusive from their site for the first few months (I believe it’s 3), then go up on FW. :)
Thanks for this thread.
For action/romance with humor:
CHARMED AND DANGEROUS

Along comes the hard-muscled, impossibly sexy Trevor, the guy whose truck she just took hostage. Luckily, Bobbie Faye knows how to outsmart angry bears, drive a speedboat, and handle a gun. As for handling Trevor? No gun-shyness there. Now, if only that pesky state police detective, who also happens to be a pissed-off ex-boyfriend, would stay out of her way…
READ AN EXCERPT
Holly’s Inbox is comedy romance – “the Bridget Jones of the digital age” – how it was recently described in Entertainment Weekly (I know – I’m bigging myself up)
Below I have written the background behind the publishing of this book….
Do you know what it’s like to throw up in your mouth and leak pee at the same time?
On the tube? In front of people?
My wife was standing there with her hands on her hips, angry, pregnant and quite scary. I shook my head, I didn’t know what it was like, so she told me, and later that day I told as many people as I could, which was around 50,000.
It had all started a few months earlier when we realised we were in trouble.
My wife and I ran a small independent recruitment agency specialising in providing receptionists, from an office in Holborn. As recruitment slowed down so the market became even more competitive and we knew if we were to stand a chance of survival we needed to come up with a new way of attracting candidates and fast.
That’s when the idea struck us…. we were going through an ex-employees work email account. The woman in question was single, extremely flirtatious and had always loved us to bits. We discovered she was married with four children, and couldn’t stand the sight of us. The life she was leading was so full of mystery, intrigue, romance (and many many lies) that it made me wonder if it was possible to tell a story in this way. If we could get receptionists to read it, maybe we could get them applying for our jobs.
Our agency needed candidates from Hotels and Banks. So I made my heroine a receptionist called Holly working for an investment bank and her best friend, Jason, a receptionist from a Hotel, and I began.
I had never had any success as a writer, never had anything published and had given up my dream years ago. But here I was about to try writing again, but this time as a woman, and I would have failed miserably if I hadn’t had a little help….
The basic plot had around two email exchanges a day and we launched http://www.HollysInbox.com . The site’s popularity spurred me on, but it soon became obvious I had grossly underestimated the amount of emails I needed each day to keep people on the site… so I began writing in real-time.
Each day I would leave my flat in Maida Vale and make my way to Holborn via public transport. I started noticing how women were treated, on tubes, on buses, how they dealt with certain situations. Instead of looking at the pretty woman on the tube, I would watch the men looking at her, I would imagine how this made her feel: good, bad, nervous, harassed?
My writing was getting better, but I believe I would never have had it published if it wasn’t for the Live Chat Room we introduced.
I already had an obsession with ratings, I could see people logging out of the site or staying put as I wrote, but now I could read what they were saying instantly, sometimes before I’d even finished the sentence. 90% of the readers were women and I’ll be honest; to begin with most of what they said wasn’t pleasant. If it was too slow, they’d complain, too much toilet humour, they’d say so, not sensitive enough – they’d roast me, but basically they were teaching me to write, like a woman. It could be quite disheartening too, I could be developing a gripping plot line, leap into the chat room and find out they were discussing Pete Dogherty’s backside.
My wife gave birth shortly after the book’s release in the UK and some of her love, pain, torment and experiences I ‘borrowed’ for my book. She was, I’m sure, most pleased to learn of a character called Pregnant Pam, who emailed Holly immediately after a flirtatious exchange with an investment banker

Hello everyone and thanks for the opportunity to showcase my new release coming on 19th June from The Wild Rose Press.
CHILDREN OF THE MIST is futuristic with a ‘fantasy’ feel. If you’re looking for spicy sex scenes, this won’t be for you, but if you like a more ‘old fashioned’ type of fantasy, this might just be your ‘thing’. It’s a follow up to my debut novel ‘Starquest’ and features some of the characters from that book. It’s not necessary to have read the first book, although it would probably help to know some of the ‘back story’ but I tried to make it as much a ’stand alone’ story as possible.
Blurb
Two minds united against a common foe. Two hearts afraid to show their love: Long ago Tamarith fell in love with a man she can never have, and is convinced she will never love another. However, she cannot help but be intrigued by a handsome stranger whose psychic powers exceed even her own.
Vidarh seeks only to find his true purpose in life and to win the regard of his father, who eschews his son’s psychic abilities. Thrown together by a common threat to their planet, then torn apart by an evil greater than any they could have imagined, can Vidarh save the lovely Nifl woman who has captivated him, before it is too late? Will Tamarith and Vidarh overcome the deadly enemy who threatens to destroy all they know and love? Will they find the happiness they both seek? Or are they fated to live their lives alone?
Excerpt:
Guided by Tamarith, Vidarh stopped before the first and largest cave. He would need some form of illumination. From his pack he drew a torch, which he lit and wedged into a crack in the rock. Unsaddling the pony, he turned it loose. The
animal, descended from stock genetically engineered to withstand the harsh conditions, and brought with the first settlers to Niflheim, was fit and hardy. It would have no problem foraging for itself until his return.
With a resolute set to his shoulders, Vidarh retrieved his torch and made his way into the cave. Just inside the mouth, he found a hollow behind a rock in which to hide the saddle and bridle. At least it would be safe and dry there, so long as no hungry rodent decided to nibble at it. He strapped on his pack, containing a change of clothing and a few personal items, and set off along a narrow passageway at the back of the cavern.
Tamarith directed him along the various twists and turns of the labyrinth. At first, the going was easy. The walls of rock gave off a soft, diffuse luminescence, augmenting the light from his torch. After walking for so long he began to think
the tunnel he followed led nowhere, the luminosity grew stronger, and the passage opened out into a large amphitheatre. The light reflected back from the walls revealed seats, formed out of pale green stone, arranged in tiers forming a semi-circle. At one end was a pool, shimmering in the soft light. Multi-colored stalactites glistened like jewelled candelabra from the roof of the cave. At the far end was a high dais flanked on each side by another passage.
Vidarh paused for only a moment to take in the beauty around him. He was familiar with the Conference Chamber of the community of Gladsheim. His mind had been there many times but this was the first time he had physically entered the place.
Instructed to take the left fork, he progressed along the labyrinths, noting the downward slope of the passage. Occasionally, when he came to a branch in the tunnel, he would stop and listen to Tamarith’s voice in his mind as it guided him
along the right path.
You don’t have far to go. I will keep sending you the directions. You should be near the river now.
Yes. I hear it up ahead.
Be careful. We had heavier than usual
snowstorms last winter. With the coming of spring, the melting snow and ice has swelled the volume of water.
Vidarh made his way along the tunnel, partly guided by his telepathic link with Tamarith, and partly by his own senses. Eventually it widened out into a large cave, through which the underground river roared as it cut its way through the mountain. On the shingle of the boulder-strewn shore, several small boats bobbed against their moorings. After ensuring his pack was securely fastened around his waist, he climbed into one, and lashed the torch to the prow. He cast off, and took up the paddle. The river bore the craft along at a tremendous rate and it needed all his skill and attention to save the craft from dashing against the rocks. He’d heard about the fabled river of Mimir, but this was not the tranquil stream of his imagination.
The walls still reflected a phosphorescent glow. Vidarh noticed several gigantic, human-like statues on the banks as he passed, but had no time to contemplate or admire them. Rounding a bend, he came upon a wall of water ahead, cascading from the roof in a fury of white froth. The torrent boiled and raced. He gritted his teeth as he headed into the maelstrom. There was no way he could control the boat’s frantic motions as it heaved and bucked like an unbroken colt. He threw down the paddle, gripped the sides of the vessel, and sent a desperate message through the ether.
Tamarith, I’m in trouble. Please—send me images of your location, quickly. I need to know what it looks like where you are.
