This weekend Amazon stripped the sales ranking from False Colors, Transgressions and hundreds of other m/m, f/f and erotica books. That means that now, no matter how well they sell, they can never appear on a bestseller list anywhere - they have essentially been made invisible to anyone not already looking for them. I don't suppose it's direct cause and effect, but this did happen just after False Colors and Transgressions began showing up regularly in the mainstream romance top 100. I've also heard this morning that Barnes and Noble have re-classified False Colors and Transgressions in their database as 'gay literature' rather than 'romance'. So it looks as if the conservative backlash has started, and it isn't going to be as simple as we hoped to get m/m fiction out of its ghetto either.
