I have loved this book since she told us of the initial concept. I was one of the lucky few allowed to read the first draft, and privileged to help tweak it to Carrie-perfection. I’ve also devoured the sequel, Ada’s story.

My copy of WaSW arrived from Amazon yesterday. So wonderful to hold it in my hands and read my friend’s creation and know that thousands (there’d better be) of other people are reading it too.

Y’all must read this book. It’s like chocolate truffles. With spiced mead.

I’m halfway through this book and am really really enjoying it so far. It’s clear that Carrie does her research, but I don’t feel hit over the head or bored with it. It’s woven into the story in a way that seems natural. And I’m loving the dialogue. Also running a little contest on my blog, so anyone interested in a free copy, stop by and play. :)

Aaah! The math. Yes, I’d managed to put that out of my mind. I can’t recall having to puzzle out anything like that while reading a romance novel in a long time. ;)

Sundial was absolutely remarkable. I loved the setting and I loved the time period and I loved the twists and turns.

Of the many qualities I admire about Carrie’s work, I think the one I admire most is that she doesn’t hesitate to tackle different settings [...] My second favorite thing would be the magically delicious damage she inflicts on her characters.

I certainly felt that with the first book of hers that I read, "Sundial." For a while there I was wondering, "Am I going to have a HEA here?" Of course I did, but the characters had to work for it!

I thought she did a wonderful job with this book, but I agree with Lorelie in that Ada’s story really shines in her uniqueness. Of the many qualities I admire about Carrie’s work, I think the one I admire most is that she doesn’t hesitate to tackle different settings but they’re always glowing with life and meticulously researched. My second favorite thing would be the magically delicious damage she inflicts on her characters.

Lorelie, really? oooo, I am more excited now for the sequel. Like Jayne, I was too wondering about Ada and how Carrie would redeem her character.

I thought What a Scoundrel Wants was a fabulous book.
