Powell’s Bookstore Powered by Solar

Maybe Obama should designate someone from Powell's Books to be part of the energy counsel.  Powell's has installed 540 solar panels on the top of its 60,000 square foot building.  These panels will generate enough electricity to power a quarter of the building.  In five years, the investment will pay for itself.  Amazingly cool.

I love Powell’s … especially now that they’ve been caring a little more about their romance section. Still not downtown as much, but the Beaverton store is pretty romance-friendly now. Reply
