I started my recent Mayberry kick after the review here of Anything For You. I loved that and these sounded cute. I really enjoyed the inside look into the soap world, although they weren't as good as Anything For You. There was just something really magical in that book.

Mac gives Grace a back rub that leads to sex despite a terrible migraine.

Yeah. As a chronic migraine sufferer myself I can say that would not happen. You don't even want to MOVE, let alone have da sex. That scene strained credibility for me big time. I really liked this book. After finishing all three I think Mac and Grace were my fav couple.

to have success at any cost and that means no meaningful relationships.

Actually I thought it was more about not wanting to risk turning into her mother and the career thing was kind of a screen for that.

Glad you're doing more SM. There are some very good category books. It's too bad that they seem to fall on either end of the spectrum.

A friend of mine once went scuba diving without being able to swim! He said he was very good at sinking and that's all he had to do. It was supervised with guide ropes for them to use to get out of the water but the instructor nearly fainted when Tony told him after the dive that he could not swim.

I enjoyed this trilogy but have to agree with your assessment about the emotional conflict being similar in each of them. There were different things that drew me to each of the characters, but a little more diversity might've made the trilogy a little more interesting.
