A sign of the economic times or a sign of the dying print media? Hard to say, but Times, Inc. is laying off 6% of its workforce which equals about 600 employees. Time Inc. owns over 24 national magazines and will re-organize those titles into three sections: news, lifestyle and entertainment. I was surprised at all the titles within the Time Inc. umbrella: Fortune, Money, Time, Sports Illustrated, Golf, Health, Essence, Real Simple, Cottage Living, Coastal Living, Southern Accents, Southern Living, Cooking Light, People, InStyle and Entertainment Weekly.
There's a lot of overlap there, if you ask me.
Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. She's currently loving contemporary authors like Sarah Mayberry and Kristan Higgins but her first love will always be the historical. Some of her old time favorites are Amanda Quick and Johanna Lindsey and some of the new favorites are Sherry Thomas, Joanna Bourne and Claudia Dain.
