I agree with the reviewer the Rafa/Hannah relationship could have been fleshed out more. However, the most enjoyable aspect of the book was the interaction of THE WALLFLOWERS themselves. I found myself wanting less Rafa/Hannah and more Evie, Lillian, Annabelle, and Daisy. This book is at it's best when these ladies grace the pages. I hope Lisa will take it upon herself to continue to write stories that feature the adventures THE WALLFLOWERS. Truly they are the stars and the only thing needed to keep the readers attention.

I got an ARC as well and I devoured this book , reading non-stop until I was done and then proceeding to re-read the best parts. I thought it was such a nice, heart-warming story. Not only because of the original wallflowers (and St Vincent!) but because of Rafe and Hannah as well. I thought the library scenes with Hannah reading A Christmas Carol's to the children were incredible and portrayed really well the enchantment of the season coupled with Rafe falling in love with her....and the toy soldier sequence? It was my favorite as well! So poignant.....

I received this as an ARC - I love Lisa Kleypas and the Wallflowers. I felt, however, pretty much the way you did. There was so much time spent on other "things" that when Hannah and Rafe got together it was like, "wait, wait, how did that happen and why?" There just wasn't enough there to make it solid. Last week I saw it in the bookstore and it is a hard back and I said to a friend of mine, while I love LK, I would not pay hard back price for that book/story.

Good review.
