Overdrive Takes E-Vangelism on the Road

Overdrive, a company that converts, distributes, and stores digital books and audio books is taking its show on the road. Overdrive has a “Digital Book Mobile” and it is going to take a nationwide tour with a semi truck tricked out with digital audiobooks, eboos, music and videos. It started at the New York Public Library and will spend some additional time in New York and the upper East Coast before meandering to Cleveland. The schedule for September is here.

JaneJane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. Jane also does not like to talk about herself in the third person, but apparently this is the way that this biography thing works (although in a true biography, someone else would be writing this blurb). Anyway, currently Jane loves urban fantasy authors Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews. She's really excited about this year's crop of historicals including Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady and Sherry Thomas' Private Arrangements and the upcoming Loretta Chase Her Scandalous Ways. She's looking for a good contemporary author. Email her with a recommendation! Email this author | All posts by Jane

That is really cool! Is the selection that OverDrive offers through its library partnerships comparable with their retail selection? I get my ebooks from BooksOnBoard, which has a retail partnership with OverDrive, and the selection is pretty impressive. If the selection is comparable, this is a big step forward for libraries… and hopefully it will get more people interested in eBooks!
