I'm reading the first book in the series (Magic Lost, Trouble Found), and the tone definitely isn't the lighthearted humor I was expecting. It's not dark dark, but it's not exactly light, either. The tone rather reminds me of Simon Green's Hawk and Fisher stories, or at least my recollection of said books.

I'm liking it so far, though there doesn't seem to be much more than hints at romance -- and from your review, it seems like that continues into the second book. I don't read fantasy novels with the expectation of a solid romantic subplot (though I love it when it does happen), so this really doesn't bother me that much.

Well, I went into this not expecting it to be a Romance novel, which it is not. I didn't take the Love Triangle all that seriously and just enjoyed the fun. I'm pro-Mychael by the way. I have the same brand of humor as Lisa, which did make it 'fall out of my chair funny!'

The fact is *I don't like Urban Fantasy,*

except Lisa's.

This means I agree whole-heartedly that it has crossover potential.

I think RUMBLE ON THE BAYOU by Jana Deleon got a C review here too. Interestingly enough, I loved that one for the same reason I love this one - the humor. On top of that, *I don't like Romantic Suspense,* except Jana's.

By the way, it's not ARMED & DANGEROUS. It's ARMED & MAGICAL.
