The Right to Write Fund will also establish an educational repository and serve as a clearinghouse focused on fair use and other First Amendment issues confronting authors, especially when works move between print, the Internet, film, the fine arts and new media.

He has every right to write. But that means writing - not acting as a human xerox machine.
Frankly they, and everyone else who supports fair use, should be hailing this decision. Can you imagine the backlash from publishers against fair use, fanfiction and fansites if he’s have won this case? They have enough money and power and lobbying strength to make life very very difficult
I wonder if they would be willing to defend Cassie Edwards would CE ever be sued for plagiarising/copywrite infringement.
I am afraid I was also on JK’s side on this one. She was clear about intending to do her own reference work and most of the material in ‘their’ book was written by her. Hardly fair use.
