Avon + The Sak = Brilliant

By Jane • May 15th, 2008 • Category: Publishing News • •

Avon and The Sak has teemed up to give away a handbag and books each month. This month’s giveaway is the Silverlake Canvas Convertible Satchel($99 retail value) filled with two Meg Cabot books, 1 Rachel Gibson book and 1 Marion Keyes book. The giveaway is for 15 sets of the books + bag combo. It’s amazing what I’ll give up my email address for.

Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. Jane also does not like to talk about herself in the third person, but apparently this is the way that this biography thing works (although in a true biography, someone else would be writing this blurb). Anyway, currently Jane loves urban fantasy authors Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews. She's really excited about this year's crop of historicals including Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady and Sherry Thomas' Private Arrangements and the upcoming Loretta Chase Her Scandalous Ways. She's looking for a good contemporary author. Email her with a recommendation!

  1. Cool!

Now, which was more significant: the books, or the bag?

  2. It was the bag. I have a bag weakness.

  3. Ditto. I saw the post at Alison Kent’s and immediately decided I must win. A bag.

  4. FYI, I think you have to subscribe to the “From the Heart” newsletter to be eligible to enter.

  5. FWIW, I don’t think TheSak.com (the handbag company) is related to Saks Fifth Avenue - but I’ve been known to be wrong.

  6. I believe you are correct, Alison. I have had a crochet bag from thesak.com for years and they have never mentioned anything about Saks Fifth Avenue in the literature they’ve mailed me.

  7. Janine - I have one, too! The husband used to work at a high end e-tailer as their graphics manager, and was good about snagging me things when offered to the employees there.

  8. I never win anything, but I want those books! So I entered. Thanks for the link.

  9. It’s amazing what I’ll give up my email address for.

    Ain’t that the truth!! :o)

  10. Alas, it’s good for US residents only :( You’d think they could find a way to at least make it North America wide!
