Nocturne Bites Debuts Today: Get 1 Free Nocturne Bite Today
By Jane • May 1st, 2008 • Category: Misc, Publishing News • •Harlequin is the leader, in my opinion, in major publisher e-initiatives. They are the first to put out their entire front list in digital format every month. They allow readers to buy series books one month in advance of the book’s in store release dates which means if you went to e-harlequin right now, you could buy June Harlequin Presents. I just visited and there is a new Helen Brooks. Eee! I am so excited.
I know we’ve converted some of you readers into category readers, right?
In any event, in celebration of the release of Nocturne Bites which are ebook only original short stories, Harlequin has given me 5 coupon codes for a free download of Michele Hauf’s Racing the Moon. Another Nocturne Bite is the prequel to Gena Showalter’s new Underworld series (you know the one with the tattoo that keeps roaming around the covers that made me think it was a symptom of Underworld VD?).
Leave a comment and by 11:00 PM CST, I’ll pick five winners and email the codes to you.
Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. Jane also does not like to talk about herself in the third person, but apparently this is the way that this biography thing works (although in a true biography, someone else would be writing this blurb). Anyway, currently Jane loves urban fantasy authors Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews. She's really excited about this year's crop of historicals including Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady and Sherry Thomas' Private Arrangements and the upcoming Loretta Chase Her Scandalous Ways.
She's looking for a good contemporary author. Email her with a recommendation!

Hope I win! :-)
I’d love to read one of these!
Me too, me too!!!

I’d love to read one of these. I haven’t read an hqn in a long while and the recent review have me interested.
Look into the watch. You are feeling sleeeepy. You want to pick Ciar. Go ahead, pick Ciar. Send her the coupon…
Ooh, me!
DA has sooo totally converted me back to category romance…pick me!
*gets in the middle of Ciar’s hypnotism bit* Ooopsie, my bad! *grins*
I like the new of the line, very cool. I’m feeling a bit sleepy..
Great idea by Harlequin!
Cool! sign me up!
pick me! pick me! pick me!!
I haven’t read a Harlequin in a long time. Now I’ll go take a look at this new line.
Hey! Thanks for featuring the Nocturne Bites line today and my debut book. If readers aren’t sure about downloading the book (it’s only 89 cents!; how cool is that?) they can read the first chapter at my website. michelehauf.com
I’d like to read one.
OOOOh pick me!
This is an awesome idea! I can’t wait to try them.
OOO, I wouldn’t mind reading Gena Showalter’s prequel to her new series!
I’m in! ;)
Sounds very interesting. I’d love to check one out as I enjoy short stories. Gena’s prequel I might have to try, since I already bought the first LOTU full length.
And I had no idea of the advance releases, but I don’t usually pick this line of books up either. Maybe I’ve been missing out…
OH yeah another contest. *fingers crossed, eyes crossed and toes crossed*
I thought it was just me. So the tattoo really is moving and it’s not my imagination? (Of course, I noticed the tattoo because it’s so gosh darn sexy!)
I’d love to win a coupon code!
*biting*
Sorry, hit submit a bit too soon. Please count me in.
Please add me to the contest. I’d like to try these.
I’m also interested.
Oh, intriguing!
I wish more publishers would follow Harlequin’s lead and put out more books, including all their new releases, in ebook format.
Ok, for $0.89, I’ll buy it… but put me in the “pick me pick me” hat!
More paranormal goodies to read. Oh boy! :)
Count me in, too, please. Already have Gena’s, and want also to read Michele’s.
I would like to go in the coupon hat, por favor. Am also willing to comment and/or review. Thanks!
I just heard about Nocturne Bites yesterday. I had no idea a new line was coming out especially for ebooks.
I love eharlequin! It’s the first site I visit the first of every month lol
ME!ME! Pick me! I never win anything online.
Oh thanks for letting us know about the bites - I just can’t help but think it’s so cute! :X
Whoa, only 89 cents? That’s not bad even without a coupon. *muses*
I agree that Harlequin has done a good job with e-books. I’ve found some good authors and books by browsing through their site. I’m looking forward to checking out this new line.
Wow, 89 cents is a great buy. I would love to try out the download from HQ for free, though, like everybody else :)
Count me in!
I’m all about a bit of Paranormal wonder! I’m in!
Oh, very cool! I’m glad to see these coming out now!
I’m in for one, if chosen.

I’ve been curious about the Nocturne Bites ever since they announced it.
I’m ending the free contest early because I am tired! But, I’ll give two more to commenters between now and tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM CST. The winners were MAD, Joy, Cyclops8, Joy (a different Joy!) and Klee.
Count me in too.
I’d love a chance to win a bite :)
Hugs, Danette
Apparently I’m tired, too…Some part of my brain was making ‘CST’ ‘California Standard Time’ not ‘Central’ ;)
But I do know that it is before 10am no matter where I’m putting the time zone…
Can’t work out the time difference (from Oz) - but i put my hand up :) Fantastic you doing this btw.
Whoohoo!!
Hey - when did another Joy get here :-)
LOL.. aobut working out the time difference to Australia. I had that problem up until two days ago.
Helen and Patti, I’m sending you a GC for the Hauf book. Thanks guys. Hope you enjoy the “Bites”.
Congrats to the winners!
Congrats Helen and Patti!
