This series just keeps getting better. I usually don’t like the ghost thing, but I have to say, I was completely satisfied with the way the problem was resolved. Usually by book six, a series starts to loose its luster and often seems repetative. This started to happen to me for Keynon’s work and also Feehan’s. Although there is a definite mold for Cole’s heros, for some reason it seems fresh still. Each tortured soul pulls me right in, and the chemistry is always smoking. Perhaps as someone above noted, it is because the quirky gals keep bringing me back– I mean I love the way they feel about the nymphs — LOL.

I usually prefer vampires to wolves, but I have to say after rereading AHLNO, it really does fit well with the series, especially the development of Emma over the course of the book, from someone who telegraphs her punches to kicksass girl in the end.

I was so glad that Conrad and Neomi could find hapiness in the end. I am looking forward to the next story, and hopefully the novella that was supposed to be released will get sorted out. That looks like its Dani’s and Murdoch’s tale.

I hope those of you who are getting the book will comment when you’re finished on what you thought of it. The only downside of having a review published before the book has been widely read is that we can’t really talk much about it.

Taja: I was kind of “meh” about A Hunger Like No Other when I first read it, too. It wasn’t until I read the novella and No Rest for the Wicked that I was fully on board with the series. The early dynamics between Emma and the Lykae flirted with the edge of TOO retro for me, and IMO the writing wasn’t as strong as in the later books. I think, though, if I went back and re-read AHLNO now that I would have a totally different view of it.

I read A Hunger Like No Other and… Let’s just say I wasn’t nearly as “wowed” by it as a lot of other readers seemed to be. There were things I liked, but overall – no. So, I didn’t buy the other novels. Now this review makes me consider trying this one at least.
