I agree with your take on this book. The elements of a good story were there but it just came off as very bland.

This is book is a good collection of cliches in my opinion.
I must state that the book is very easy to read but does not create enough excitement for me.

It has nothing new in it, but that’s OK for the usual reader.

Glad you read it, J. I remember thinking that the romance seemed forced but I loved the action and the world building. It’s the case where other elements of the story kind of made up for it (for me). I started the sequel. You must admit that she has a cool cover. [g] C+ aint’ bad at all.
