I think, for me, one of the biggest surprises was Tom. I especially liked how Hannah, and Tom for that matter, actually learned to respect and even like the other… those first impressions sure can carry a lot of weight.

KathyK you make a good point here. I’m wondering how many people most of us dismiss after an initial bad meeting and never take the time to get to know. Probably a lot. Specifically I recall Hannah’s surprise that Tom owned dogs. Didn’t she wonder what else about his life she didn’t know? Sorry, it’s been a little while since I finished the book and I can’t remember.

Anyway, I’m glad the book worked for you.

I very much enjoyed this first story by Rhianna Samuels. I’m just a reader, so I don’t usually worry too much about editing or the like, unless there are an overabundance of errors, etc ~ in other words, anything that interrupts the flow of the story.
I totally took this story to be true escapism and loved it as such; I’m just glad that I was reading it and not living it!
I really liked the paranormal and suspense / thriller elements; the romance between Hannah and Takeshi was steamy, but also very emotionally satisfying. I think, for me, one of the biggest surprises was Tom. I especially liked how Hannah, and Tom for that matter, actually learned to respect and even like the other… those first impressions sure can carry a lot of weight.

I, too, really want more of so many of the characters and am hoping for a new story soon!

I thought her comments were okay at first but then she just kept on and on and on and ….obviously it’s one of those “your milage may vary” issues.

It was very emotional, I will totally agree with you on that.

Interesting, I read this book and really liked it. I will agree with you on a few points. It could have had better editing and a lot less going on, but it was still a good read none the less. It’s interesting that you thought Hannah to be snide and surly. I found her to be self depreciating and very amusing, laughing throughout the book at her snappy remarks.

While it was true for me that there was a bit too much going on, I really liked that it took me on an emotional roller coaster, as I experienced the gambit of emotions with this book. I like being affected like that. And, this was the first book I’ve read in a long time in which I was left wishing I could know more about what happened with the characters. I really wanted more.
