Nora Roberts Inspires Indy Bookstore

By Jane • Apr 7th, 2008 • Category: Publishing News • •

Nicole and Jim Hayes opened up the Cafe Book store in Antioch, Illinois last month inspired by Nora Roberts’ Three Sisters Trilogy. The bookstore is designed to invoke the feeling of the bookstore in the series. The selection is small but the atmosphere is conducive to lounging.

The Hayes’ have previous small business and restaurant experience owning a tapa-style bar called Rugna’s and a home decor store called Rustique.

Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. Jane also does not like to talk about herself in the third person, but apparently this is the way that this biography thing works (although in a true biography, someone else would be writing this blurb). Anyway, currently Jane loves urban fantasy authors Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews. She's really excited about this year's crop of historicals including Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady and Sherry Thomas' Private Arrangements and the upcoming Loretta Chase Her Scandalous Ways. She's looking for a good contemporary author. Email her with a recommendation!

  2. Wow, this is just wonderful. Beyond being flattered, it sounds like a fabulous bookstore. If I’m ever in the area, I’m so there!

  3. You can see a picture of the book store and a brief article here:

I’m going to try to visit the store this weekend — love the idea of the store.
