I have to say, the idea of a woman learning to fence/duel appealed to me, but then my favourite anime of all time is <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolutionary_Girl_Utena" rel="nofollow">Revolutionary Girl Utena</a>, and I also have a fondness for <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_of_versailles" rel="nofollow">Rose of Versailles</a>.
