Barish-Stern, has written a contemporary, sci-fi/fantasy,”Code 47 to BREV Force,” that is filled with multi-dimensional characters, facing life and death issues, in a battle to save themselves and the world. Is this something you would read?

Blah…I feel the love triangle in Patricia Briggs’ series to be so forced that I could care less who Mercy ends up with–I just want more were and skinwalker mythology.

This was really interesting. Thanks so much for sharing. But, oh no, more books I want to read. I can never decide if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I think “Plague Year” sounds really interesting. I rather like a good post-apocalyptic novel.

Rob Thurman’s Nightlife, Moonshine and (coming in March, I think) Madhouse are some of the best novels I’ve read in this genre (or any genre, really). They’re tense and suspenseful and oooh so romantic! and very humorous –a lot of fun to read. I found them more fun to read than Butcher. Thurman has more sexy guys and decidedly more complex and interesting female characters. (Female characters who don’t whine and fall apart by the end of the book, either. Very refreshing!)

LOL! As I’m reading that, I was nodding my head and thinking, “Yep, read hers, read his, she’s an auto-buy, she’s on my will-buy list.”

Maybe I’m odd (okay, no maybe about it), but I am not always aware of publisher name, just author name. So it sometimes surprises me when I see a publisher naming authors (and I’m pretty sure that list is far from comprehensive) and realize just how many great authors that publisher was smart enough to sign! There are some good “eyes” at Ace, and of the Ace authors I’ve read, they all have their very own unique voice within the urban fantasy genre.
