Susan, I’ve never read Cornwell’s Am Rev series. I have read about 1/2 of the “Sharpe” novels and have most of the Civil War ones though and love his work. Another one of those series I’ve been meaning to look into….

Have you ever read any Bernard Cornwell? You’d probably like REDCOAT, his one American Revolution book. It has a stronger romantic thread than most of his books, the main character is a common British soldier, and it’s definitely gritty and realistic.
