Btw, Amanda, I saw Caressed by Ice at Books on Board and Fictionwise today - available as ebook! Fictionwise has it in MS Reader and eReader format, and Books on Board has in both of those formats, plus in Adobe Reader format.

I saw Caressed by Ice at Borders today in my hunt for The Serpent Prince. It made me wish I liked the series; I would have bought it. But I read the first one, and although it was okay, it just didn’t “get” me on any level. Somehow I never connected emotionally to the characters; they felt too cold to me. Still, every time a new one comes out and I read the buzz, it makes me wonder why it didn’t work for me. :( Oh well, to each her own.

I LOVED Nalini’s Caressed by Ice. I think Judd is my favorite so far. Nalini is an autobuy for me. This series rocks my world.

I’ve heard great things about Driven. Might have to check this out.

Well, I have the Goodman, will be getting the Hoyt the minute it hit’s the stores here, have the previous Rose book so that’s all good. I read Outlander by Gabaldon and while I enjoyed it, it was enough for me to know later that Jamie and Clare got back together and haven’t read any of her other books. So two - kind of three out of four isn’t bad!

Great list! I’m dying to get Serpent Prince as I’ve been enjoying Hoyt’s work ever since the Raven Prince. I just read the Goodman book this weekend and it was very very good. And Gabaldon is an auto-buy, so I’m excited to see a new LJ story available. This is gonna be a good month. (Can’t forget Vishous’ book coming out at the end of September too!)

Have you considered Morag McKendrick Pippen’s Perfidia? (She’s writing as Elspeth McKendrick.) It was released today and is set in 1939 Berlin. I’m just keen on finding out how she makes a Nazi hero sympathetic. We’re giving away copies this week over at Unusual Historicals.

As for this list, I’m looking forward to The Serpent Prince…

Jorrie - I thought this one of the better Goodman books. Her endings usually fall apart for me, bringing down my overall enjoyment for the book, but not this one.

HelenKay - It did occur to me that I enjoyed Karen Rose’s Die for Me and I should have included that one in the “recommendations”. Otherwise, the contemps I read were pretty meh.
