Denise Brown Backs Out of Confrontation on Oprah
By Jane • Aug 29th, 2007 • Category: Publishing News • •Denise Brown has decided to not go on the Oprah show on September 13. According to Brown, at the time she agreed to the show, the book was still being shopped around. Brown wanted to make the case for the book’s non publication but now feels that appearing on the show would be “moot” given that the publisher is rushing to make the book available on September 13 to coincide with the show itself. Beaufort Books, the publisher of the tome, has said it will print 125,000 copies to meet the 116,000 pre-orders. Barnes and Noble still refuses to stock it in the stores.

Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. Jane also does not like to talk about herself in the third person, but apparently this is the way that this biography thing works (although in a true biography, someone else would be writing this blurb). Anyway, currently Jane loves urban fantasy authors Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews. She's really excited about this year's crop of historicals including Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady and Sherry Thomas' Private Arrangements and the upcoming Loretta Chase Her Scandalous Ways.
She's looking for a good contemporary author. Email her with a recommendation!

Probably a good idea on her part—it would just give the book more publicity if she went on the show.
This makes much more sense to me.
