I admit I have a vintage fetish which naturally means I tend to love all things retro. Is there anything more retro than a USB stick for personal mixes? That is packaged in a tape cassette holder and has an area to handwrite your playlist? Lloyd Dobler + USB stick = Contemporary Hotness. Via Gizmodo.  Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. Jane also does not like to talk about herself in the third person, but apparently this is the way that this biography thing works (although in a true biography, someone else would be writing this blurb). Anyway, currently Jane loves urban fantasy authors Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews. She's really excited about this year's crop of historicals including Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady and Sherry Thomas' Private Arrangements and the upcoming Loretta Chase Her Scandalous Ways.
She's looking for a good contemporary author. Email her with a recommendation!

I love this idea. I was totally into making mixed tapes for my friends and boyfriends in junior high. Once, I was grounded for a month with no phone privileges in the summer and my best friend and I communicated through mixed tapes (a combination of music and spoken messages) made every other day and left in a location at the corner of my house. She only lived a block away so she’d come pick my tape up and leave hers. I loved those tapes. Just call me a geek :)
