Kate Spade Covers Your Trashy Novels
By Jane • Jul 23rd, 2007 • Category: Publishing News • •Don’t like the covers on your books (me neither)? Kate Spade has some downloadable covers for your books. I don’t know if they will last or whether they fit a paperback as they use hardcovers for examples but they are free. On Kate’s summer reading list is one that Jayne read and recommended: The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion.

Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. Jane also does not like to talk about herself in the third person, but apparently this is the way that this biography thing works (although in a true biography, someone else would be writing this blurb). Anyway, currently Jane loves urban fantasy authors Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews. She's really excited about this year's crop of historicals including Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady and Sherry Thomas' Private Arrangements and the upcoming Loretta Chase Her Scandalous Ways.
She's looking for a good contemporary author. Email her with a recommendation!

Calendars, that’s what folks should use.
When I was a schoolgirl in China we wrapped all our school books, not cuz they had mantitty on the cover (God forbid), but because they were such flimsy things that had to be protected. My bookcovers were always admired because we had interesting calendars at home with beautiful pictures on them.
