I am glad I was not the only one who felt that way. This is in no way the story or continumn of Sara and Lena, and how their lives were 3 years later which it the way it was presentee or “sold” to all of those “faithfull” readers.

She puts you on a string herre. Do you buy the next book to see if she readfs Lena’s letter? Are they ever going to tell us anything about her real life except her damned apartment? What about everyone else from Grant county? All of the unanswered questions? Sara’s parentage for one. Jefferies son. Do they ever tell him? What happened to the baby they were supposed to adopt. Sara’s sister, her cousin… alll those we took a personal interest in.Oh yeah what happened to the girls who were burried undergroud??

OK I know it is fiction. I have been reading these books since the first. Waiting with baited breath for the day Sara and Jeffery would be happy. Always waiting for little tidbits about the non main charectors that slaughter used to throw in. It became part of my life. REal to me. That is what a good author does.

She lost me.

i am reading the new book Undone (US version of Genesis). I too was baffled that so far it really has nothing to do with Grant County, since i thought this was a grant county book. I went to Karin’s website to make sure i had indeed picked up the correct book. WELL, i am shocked to see that this book in an entirely NEW freakin series… I mean, we have the grant county series, which is looking like ended with the brutal killing of jeffrey since she hasnt come out with a new one since that book (which really she needs to continue that story line considering the only reason why people bought her books to begin with were for Grant County, not these other series… anyways…) then we have new “Will Trent/Atlanta series”, and now this newest book Genesis/Undone is part of a series called “The Georgia Series”. REALLY?!?!?!? did anyone know this?? i am curious to know your thoughts! (sorry for the long post)

I commented on it.

All I wrote was not to bother with it.

I had pre ordered it even though I swore off slaughter.

This book was horrible. Not at all Slaughter style nor what you would expect from her. I expected more!!
It is also not the story of Sara and no whre is Lena mentioned except the lette that Sara carries around.

We were promised it would be Saras’ story and would find out how Lena was doing …

Nope none of that. Just a trap to get you to buy another book to try to find out. Bad writing all around.Bad move to alient true former fans too

Read genesis after waiting for ever after “the last 3 pages”. Read everything KS ever wrote and loved it (except for lucky charm )until she killed off a main character and then fobbed me off with a bad book. Was not worth the wait, very disappointed in it and karin has lost another fan. Surprised no one else has commented on it or has no one actually bought it?

I’m a great fan of Karin Slaughter’s books and have read everyone. I too was disappointed with the death of Jeffrey. However, I am 3/4 through Genisis and in true Slaughter style, the book is captivating. Murder mystery & romance. One chapter may have closed when Jeffrey was killed off but another has opened with Will, Faith & Sara. I haven’t been able to put it down. Love her writing and can’t wait for follow up books.

Well, because I’m a used book fanatic, I bought Beyond Reach at a used book store, and was ecstatic reading it, thinking I had found another great mystery novelist to enjoy, but this ending honestly ruined the rest of the book, instead of the awesome plot, wonderful suspense, and overall great story, I just keep thinking of the ending, not only did it feel like a cheap parlor trick, but it felt rushed at that, if you had kill off the main guy, couldn’t Karin have put a little more effort then a couple pages into it?

Karin rushed, and ruined a series I would have otherwise purchased in it’s entirety.

I just finished Beyond Reach after reading all the Sara and Jeffey books. I’m so dissapointed and will not read anymore of your books. I realize these are murder mysteries but there was always the 3 constants and when you “really” screwed that up that was it for me. Women are the biggest readers of these stories and if we wanted that kind of ending we can watch the 6 O’clock news. You could have left us with a little happiness after all the dealth instead of slapping us in the face. I enjoyed the whole Sara and Jeff series until the end of the last book. I was looking forward to the next one, not happening now. You blew this one!
I hope you read this because I don’t usually comment on books but I’m just so pissed off at the ending of this on. Maybe it was a dream and she’ll wake up in your next book realizing it was just a fearful dream.

are you serious? is it that bad? i read a clip that she brings the Grant County novel and the new Atlanta/Will Trent novel together in this one. i wasnt sure if that was gonna tick me off or make me happy. Cant wait to get my copy, but i am telling you – if she pisses me off again with this book that is it, i am officially done with KS – she will have officially “slaughtered” her carreer

Don’t bother reading undone or as it was orig set as genisis.

It is NOT Saras’ story, certainly a book meant to bring you back to buy more to find out what happens
