I’m up and contemplating whether I’ll survive the day. I thought I would share what the Goody Room is all about. The Goody Room is on the second floor of the Grand Hyatt and in two small connecting rooms. When you first walk in, there is this round table of items. I asked what a person had to do to get on this table, but no one had a response.

Authors and organizations leave bookmarks, pamphlets, books, ARCS (heard that Sherry Thomas much anticipated 2008 book showed up in the afternoon. Sadly not while I was there), compacts, magnets, bookmarks, pens, and other much random stuff.
This went fast. It was to check your lipstick. I assume it was a mirror of some sort.
Elizabeth Hoyt’s Bookmarks. Cute basket helped make the bookmarks standout.
Even better was this display of Maria Snyder’s bookmarks. I think anything that had height was eye catching

Suzanne Brockmann signing pamphlets in the Goody Room. Sybil cursed Brockmann for having read JR Ward’s unpublished book about Vhishous.
Geri Krotow had these bottle opens.
These were some kind of covers/caps and I forget for which author.

I thought that any container for bookmarks was better than bookmarks on the table. There was a plethora of dark colored bookmarks. The more eyecatching ones were light colored, sometimes white and red, sometimes just a different, paler background. Wendy and I liked the cover flats, but Kristie J and Sybil liked the bookmarks.
Kristie J loved the pens and Wendy loved the magnets. Sybil wanted more books. Kristie J thought that the Secrets Anthology tables were eyecatching because of the number of books. Write Minded put together an excerpt booklet with several authors’ works. Wendy and I really liked that.

Kristie J liked the cellophane wrapped materials. Kristie would have liked little notebooks to put in her purse. What a great idea. The Goody Room is constantly changing with books going fast. I’ll stop by to see what new things will be out.
